Nah, when you an omit a comma in a situation like that, it's to indicate you're talking fast, with no pauses in what you're saying.
At least, that's why I omit commas sometimes.

man today i was thinking about football and what a great sport it is, then i got all excited and had to tackle something. luckily my manager is a big guy who also likes football, so i surprised him with a tacklefest power struggle to see whose legs were in better shape!
he didn't take it all to well as he dove out of the way and i broke 6 knob creek bottles, a display full of chicken noodle soup and 7-up, and a hybrid display of rotel/velveeta.
what a day! football is great!
speaking of which, nfl blitz sucked. it's not realistic at all. ALL THE MADDEN CURRENTYEAR GAMES WERE KEWL!
