I suppose cooking is my hobby. Trying to learn proper Indian cuisines at the moment, they've got best vegetarian food in the world. As a kid I used to collect all kinds of cards etc., but now I'll stick to record collecting. Also, playing guitar & music making. Gaming, books, student organizations...

I enjoy skiing, martial arts, working out, and video games. I would say that I work on computers, but if your top hobby becomes your job is it a hobby anymore?

Hobbies? Well, I'm pretty seriously into different types of gaming. Right now the wife and I have been playing L4D/L4D2 just about every night unless she's feeling sick, and I'm eagerly waiting to get a new desktop for when DCU Online drops. I've been involved with the tabletop RPG industry for about twenty one years now in a lot of respects; I've played all four eds of D&D and loathe the most recent, Shadowrun, GURPS, BESM in various permutations, Mutants and Masterminds, the Palladium System, and a bunch of lesser knowns, have written D&D fanzines and participated in tourneys at numerous cons, and done some freelance writing in the field. I also play Warhammer/Warhammer 40K and recently tried and enjoyed Warmachine. I'm also a long-time Heroclix player and play MTG sporadically, as I have since Beta. The wife and I run online play by post games and actually met through playing on one. So yeah, big time nerd here.

So you only do the things in life that are required to survive?

Eat, couple, clean and sleep?

To be fair to Jeebus, coupling isn't a requisite for survival, just the perpetuation of the species. Likewise, cleaning isn't really necessary for survival, although it increases the chances by making a less hazardous environment. So really, all he has to do is eat, sleep and excrete waste byproducts. Sounds like a pretty sweet setup to me.

Jeebus's response was obviously a satirical jab at the way the topic is titled.

I'm jealous he beat me to it.

Writing. But I'm one of those people who never finishes a story because halfway through I convince myself that the topic is stupid. I don't think I've ever finished a single piece of creative writing. I'd like to start collecting vinyl again, but I'm broke. Also playing instruments.

Music, playing and collecting. Writing, as well.

Pretty sad that the two responses immediately following mine were people who clearly didn't get it. Sad

In serious answer to your question, my hobbies the ones you might expect from someone who runs a site like this:

Video games, drinking, Magic: The Gathering, and writing.

In regards to the topic title, the question is grammatically correct and it makese sense. But it's not a question that a person would normally ask. You asked if people have any hobbies. Well, yes. Everyone has at least one hobby. The better question to ask would be: "What are your hobbies?"

It's not a matter of not getting it, per se, but a matter of making a snarky comment that obviously didn't seem nearly as funny to everyone else as it did to me. And when a joke doesn't make anyone else laugh... it makes the jokester a douche. Woo.

For one, there's video games. Over the past two months I've played almost nothing but Fallout 3 and Oblivion; those games are so massive I think they could be considered hobbies in themselves.

I LOVE listening to music and hearing new bands/bands I've never heard.

I also love reading, though I haven't really read much in the past few months (the last book I really read was The Picture of Dorian Gray, which was pretty hilarious).

That's pretty much it.

Well, I've got tons of hobbies, and I'll narrow it down to some of my favorites. I love to cook, took two years of cooking in High School. I really love music, I've been playing an instrument since 5th grade when I picked up the cello. Art and writing are my biggest hobbies at the moment and they really go hand in hand for me. I also got interested into airplanes quite a long time ago because of my grandpa who loved them, and I'm going to learn how to fly on my vacation from my job coming up in a a week or two. And finally, I love to build models of things, almost no matter what it is.

Painting battletech miniatures, drinking, video games, reading, playing guitar, interneting, preaching to the masses about the wonder that is the chicken bake.

Lessee. Reading is my biggest one; I read at least a book a week, and usually more. There's little in life that makes me happier than a good book.

Comics. Until recently just reading the new stuff, but I'm slowly wading in to the collector's world. I also review for a website, because I like writing too.

Video games. Duh?

Horses. I don't work on a ranch anymore, and I have no way to afford or house my own horse (YET), but I still count it as a hobby because I love them, I love taking care of them, and most of all I love to ride.

Birdwatching. Also duh. (See: user name, avatar, multiple posts bragging about my two pet birds.)

Funny, it's the reverse for me. That's why me as a chef would never work.

Current Hobbies: Gaming, Sketching/Comics, Food, Pro-Wrestling.

Former Hobbies: Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic The Gathering. Mostly as I have no one to play with and I got sick of the fucking Elemental Hero cards.

I like to play video games and fiddle with my bass every now and then. If I'm not doing either of those things I'm trying to learn how to play MTG with my brother or running errands.
