So I think I fall in a huge category of people who hate remakes, whether it be for the ridiculous nature of them, or the raping of a classic, or even the total lack of creativity of current Hollywood. I am willing to accept though that sometimes a movie not only needs to be remade, but can actually be a lot more enjoyable than the original.
My problem is the only one I can think of off the top of my head is Night of the Living Dead. Maybe because the original is hard to watch casually to me, but I thought Tom did a great job directing, and even though they fucked up the ending, I thought it's so much easier and funner to watch.
Any other contenders or other movies out there just begging to be re-done?

Original, Remake, 3D Remake, and to be honest every single Zombie Apocalypse movie ever made is a remake of it in spirit.
Fun Fact: The original is public domain. Give it a download today!
As for your question: Remakes are fine, but I think too many of them try and stand on the original and say "This will be great too!". They need to make their own damn movie...and to be honest, some classics (and "classics") really need to be left alone.

I was actually pretty pleased with the Savini remake of NotLD. I think if there's another film I'd like to see remade, it would actually be Return of the Living Dead, but they'd need a great cast to really pull it off. The wife and I have watched this one enough that I have it memorized.

I think he meant the movie where the two fight?

I don't know if any remakes are neccessary, however the remake of 3:10 To Yuma was better than the original.

Haha, yea I said Vs. It was a movie from the early 60's.
I would have to have been under some mighty rock my whole life to have said "King Kong or Godzilla" haha.
I think a remake would be alot of fun at the very least.
