Last night I popped into a blood drive bus to donate on the way to class, turns out I was the first one to show up and give. The bus had been there 8 hours! WTF? I ended up giving platelets for Leukemia patients which took about 20 minutes, pretty strange operation there. So does anyone here give blood? If not, why not?

I am terrified of needles. I actually have to take Xanax before having dental work involving Novocain or before having blood drawn
I would, however, in an emergency.

I used to give blood every three months or so between the ages of about 18-24. Of course, the reason behind that was that it was much easier to go and get loaded for cheap afterwards, but still, that ended up being a decent amount of blood. I haven't given since because, honestly? I've been lazy. As a side note, I have the happiest blood type of them all- B+

I'm usually working out later in the day or the next day, and I feel like giving blood will weaken me. Not sure if there's any truth to it or not......it could be mental....but either way, meh.

I used to, but I went tattoo, tattoo, piercing, and you have to wait 6 months after getting something like that. Maybe I'll donate before my next tattoo.

I give blood pretty frequently, every time the blood-bus is up at my local campus I give.

They'd love to get my O- blood, but I'm afraid my blood typically contains too much alcohol.

I was thinking why have a blood bus on a campus? Most kids are drunk and every girl has a fresh tramp stamp. All I can say is if you're gonna give plasma to them take the next day off, I am hurting.

I wish I could give. Between a history of anemia and being very close to under their minimum weight standards, I get rejected every time I try. It absolutely killed me not to be able to donate after 9/11. Ugh.

I give blood when I can. I used to be a big motherfucker, so they'd take two bags from me when I did it, but ever since I've gotten healthier, I can't give as much. Weird trade-off.

I can't give blood. I am so utterly anaemic it's not even funny. The last time I showed up for a blood drive, they just gave me some chocolate and told me to gain some weight first.
That was nice of them, and the chocolate was yummy.

Syd, do you use the D20 system or the LAME* system for doing it in LARP style?

As a side note, unless I've totally missed the boat on this during my last trip to Games Depot, I'm surprised some company hasn't cashed in on having a Twilight rpg book, but I suppose that the license/rights would just be too expensive of an initial investment. There's enough freeform Twilight games out there (based on the amount of ads I get on my advert sites) that it would sell like the proverbial hotcakes.

I had to get blood drawn last month. The ensuing two hours were not fun at all. The doctors insisted that they saw the color leave my skin a few seconds after the needle left my arm but it wasn't until 30 seconds later that I almost fainted and vomited. I never do that naturally so I am not looking forward to the next time. The fact that I hadn't eaten anything 12 hours prior didn't help. When I told the doctor that he was surprised because most only fast for four hours. That'll teach me.

What do you call a gay vampire? A tooth fairy.
As to the question at hand, I gave blood once back in high school (oddly enough I'd also brought some Sabbat handbooks from 2E VtM that day to read when I'd finished assignments)
