David Lynch, hands down. True, Inland Empire, not that great, but everything up to that was just mind blowing. Even Dune. That's right. By far, though, Blue Velvet and Mulholland Drive stand out for me. Also, Twin Peaks is the only TV show I'd ever want to see remade.

Who likes role-playing games? Me. Way too goddamn much.

Sabu
Akira Kurosawa (properply the best director)
Sergej Eisenstein
David Lynch (although, these days i would consider him mainstream, wich makes is work less attractiv because many directors and writers copy him, but in such an obvious and akward way that his films kinda get damaged)
Orson Welles
The Nouvelle Vague (especially Godard)
Mel Brooks
Ingmar Bergman
Billly Wilder (yeah i know, his movies are kinda cheap considered to todays comedy-movies, but the got enough other qualitys)

these are some, probably forgot half of em.

Nah. That's far, far less a commentary on soldiers and the military than it is a commentary on human nature. The way I read it, the soldiers just happened to be the ones with the training and equipment to survive but, had anyone else survived, it would have degenerated the same way. Lord of the Flies, man.

That's a very mature and insightful response, I was thinking along those same lines, when i starting reading this thread, but i was curious your reply.

That said i'm sure good displine can reduce the number of rapes... But you're right it is human nature, and while horrible... it's also horribly understandable. That's not to say I agree with it, but I understand the situation...

As for directors, I think they do play a key role, they'ransition pointe like the tone or voice of the scripts dialogue. The fluidity to the detailed camera shots trs.

That movie was good. I bet if it was directed by Ed Wood himself it would have involved zombies, aliens or sex change operations.
