That game was the shit! I've seen different models, but the one I had was this:
It was actually my uncle's originally and he gave it to me when I was a kid. LCD games were so much more advanced by that point, nobody I ever showed it to would appreciate/understand it. They probably thought I was retarded for playing something where the only graphics were red dashes, but I got lots of entertainment out of playing and announcing my own games.

Jumpman Junior for the Commodore 64 in 1989.
That same day I got stung by a bee, so I dedicated the rest of the day to tracking down as many bee's as I could find and viciously murdering them with a net and the bottom of my shoe. I have never been stung since.

Probably Super Mario World or Donkey Kong Country 1. If not those, then Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt or Super Mario Bros. 3.

Streets of Rage. Thank you Uncle Matt.
Fun Fact: He's just had twins, so when they're around 4 I'm going to send a Genesis and a copy of either Streets of Rage or the 6-PAK their way.

I remember that! I couldn't figure it out, though, and by the time I was old enough to play games like these, the memory of Star Raider was repressed by the much easier to understand Elite.
Perhaps I should give Star Raider another chance soon.

I had Star Raider, Robotron, Q-bert, Dig-Dug, Donkey Kong Jr., Centipede (which I sucked at), and Congo Bongo (which just plain sucked) on my Atari 400 when we got it. The first three I mentioned were my favorite. I think I still have them somewhere, I wonder if they still work! Some of these games I haven't played since the Reagan administration.

Pitfall for the 2600. Verily, it opened the floodgates to hundreds upon hundreds of dollars spent by my parents, extended family and later, myself on gaming systems, accessories, games and strategy guides since

I want to say it was 1983 or4..I remember my dad taking me to a pool hall that had pinball machines and video games. He dropped a quarter in the original Star Wars cabinet machine and gave me the controls. I was mesmerized by all the bright and shiny lines and quickly died. He dropped a quarter in himself and proceeded to destroy the high score and play through the game several times. I always wondered why he'd get home late from work....
