Me and a buddy were discussing about the local arcades that have all closed down in our local area and were nostalgically remembering all the Cool games they once had. Like TMNT , Tecmo Bowl, OutRun, Captain America (one of my favs) and the like...there was one that slipped my mind and I cannot remember its name.

You all happen to have very random knowledge so I thought you guys could help out. The game was short as in tall wise. and was domed at the top. Inside the there was holographic people. One was a cowboy another was a knight (I think). I don't remember the premise of the game but I just remember being in "awe" when I saw it. If anyone can please tell me the name cause I wanna buy it. Either for the store or for my place.

I remember that game. It cost me like $2 to play and I died within a minute. I was pissed.

Now that the original question has been answered, let me ask you all this? If you could have two arcade or pinball machines in your house right this second, what would they be?

I would pick:
1. Guns N' Roses pinball
2. Marvel VS. Capcom

X-Men and Mortal Kombat.

I'm actually trying to get my hands on a JAMMA arcade machine so I can just swap out game boards and get a bunch of the games I've wanted to have, like X-Men, MK, TMNT, Bad Dudes... You know, all the classics. Cool

I would have Mario Kart GP and A gun game, perhaps Lethal Enforcers. I haven't played many off them too often, so I can't quite decide.

It's a toss up between Simpsons Arcade Game, TMNT, and the first Marvel v. Capcom. It was sweet picking Gambit, Rogue, and Wolverine and wreaking havoc.

Race Driving (The only driving game that ever had a clutch.)
&
Street Fighter III: Third Strike

A very close runner up would be the SEGA R-360. If you have never heard of it, check this page out: http://mysite.verizon.net/res8aiig/R360_1_for_sale/R360_1_for_sale.htm

On a side note, a friend of mine has a small collection of arcade machines and memorabilia, and just came across this relic, which he had no use for and gave me today:

Image

It's the marquee to the Super Mario Bros. arcade machine that was part of Nintendo's "VS." series. It's totally faded, but still really neat. And now it's sitting on my desk.

If that's not more motivational than those inspirational posters, nothing is. Wink

I have a Street Fighter II arcade machine, the funny thing is that it was customized for altering the difficulty and the speed and such, I flicked a couple switches here and there, now not only is it impossible without using Bison but whenever you're Blanka and he does the bite move he turns into Ryu and does a stand still dragon punch. It is awesome...I guess i'd want the Super Mario Bros. Pinball, and any DDR machine.

Are you sure it's not SF 2 Rainbow Edition, a hacked, bootleg edition from some Chinese company.

And DarkMaze: This banner, and the James Bond thing? Some people have all the luck. Mad

It should be, I bought it from an arcade here locally and had my buddy in college add some twists to it, however I was unaware you are able to swap palettes of special moves. I just recently popped a quarter in and played a kid and he was Guile, his sonic kick turned into a chun-li kick except it just went straight up instead of across. Maybe I should stop flicking switches...

I think the dumbest thing I ever played was Capcom VS SNK 2 for the Gamecube. There was a GCN-ISM mode where you could hit any direction on the C-stick to automatically do a move. It took an already boring game and made it mindless. It turned into block damage battles, which is more or less what Rainbow Edition SF turns into.

Actually, it was fun for a little bit, when my friend picked Sagat.
