If anything the reasons you listed is why some people tend to love ODST. Let's face it, having a more fragile player means that you'll actually think about what you're doing rather then just jumping up and blasting through everything. I don't know about what other people think but I personally love the fact that you aren't Master Chief, it seems a lot more fun to play as a group of humans rather then the superhuman SPARTAN. Then again, I'm a pretty big fan of Firefly, and the inclusion of 3 cast members in "The Squad" was probably my favorite aspect of the whole game.
