I only needed to hear the first 10 seconds to get the entire message. Why do people insist on making entire videos of things that only need a few paragraphs of text and some screenshots?

This is my new favorite YouTube video ever. From now on anytime I feel bad about sinking hours into writing a blog post or uploading an LP, I will think back to this guy. And I will be happy.
Therefore, I believe this person serves an important purpose in the Chain of Nerddom: he's the guy we can all look at and go, "at least I'm not him."
By the way, if you haven't finished it you really should. Its hilarious, and also kind of awesome that someone would work so hard to analyze such minutiae.
EDIT: Also, Syd is incorrect. As I sat here watching this my mother gave me a ten minute dissertation about how she has to wear her old retainer at night because the new one doesn't let her sleep. She has officially claimed the prize.

What's funny is that's shit that everyone always noticed when they played Mario, but never had the brilliant idea of actually explaining it...out loud....on video....for the world to watch.
I wonder what video game shirt THAT guy is wearing.

Around the 3 minute mark, it sounds like he's starting to fall asleep. Like even he's bored with what he's saying.

Honestly what really gets me out of the whole thing is the fact the camera system used in SMW is so standard.
Most all platformers use a very similar camera system, therefore this guy is wasting his breath/life even more so. Egad

He didn't use the word "parallax" in the first 10 seconds so I just stopped watching because he probably wouldn't get to it until halfway through.

He should do an in depth report on the snes controller, and how the buttons marvelously trigger actions in the game when depressed.

No, he should do one on the NES Zapper and the wonderful echoing click it makes when you pull the trigger.

[dozy uninterested voice]After further investigation I noticed that pulling the trigger emits a loud, characteristic noise akin to a combination of a high-tensile spring snapping and a mechanical "click", which focuses the attention of the user to the gun itself, causing the user's psyche to associate the so called zapper with an actual functioning gun, whereas the absence of a mechanical "click" would shatter the sense of immersion via lack of physical feedback, thus ruining the illusion of duck murder gun play. All in all the high-tensile spring snapping and mechanical "click" functionality was a sound marketing move for Nintendo of America.[/dozy uninterested voice]

Because Darth Vader's voice is the diametrical opposite of the one from the video?
