So I'm renting the "Something, Something, Something Dark Side" DVD from Netflix to check out the extras. There is feature that pops up various factoids throughout the movie. One of these factoids appears whenever Seth McFarlane voices a character...talk about being full of yourself. At around the 28 minute mark there are 20 "Seth McFarlane As..." factoids. Talk about being on an ego trip.

I watched the 150th episode. I read that Seth wanted to see if Brian and Stewie were dimensional enough to carry an episode all on their own. Maybe it's my autism, but I'd say they pulled it off flawlessly for the duration of the plot. You guys?

The show is no longer on my "watch weekly" list.
That should tell you enough about how I felt about it.

There were no cutaways or flashbacks for the entire portion before the favorite musical numbers. When they did the final song as Sheboopie I turned the TV off. The new Boondocks was underwhelming as well, but that's for a seperate thread.

I watched the first half hour of Brian & Stewie. It had its ups and downs. Overall, not that good, but not the worst. I think they may have actually tackled some subjects that were a bit too mature for the type of show that it is. Brian's suicidal thoughts tied with owning a gun and a final drink took it a step too far for a funny cartoon.
Once they began the musicals with the fat guys singing I just shut off the TV. It made me think of Axl's My World.

People watch shows they hate all the time. Hell, I bet 2/3 of the audience of people like Rush Limbaugh is "People who hate Rush Limbaugh".
Ratings don't differentiate between people who hate the show and people who like it. An ass in the seat is an ass.

Other than that, I can see where Satsui is going with that. Even if you hate it, you're contributing to its success... Is there a way to negatively impact something you dislike without acting out of complete bias?

The season opener And Then There Were Fewer was... boring.
I laughed one time when the group was carrying Joe up the stairs and Peter was humming Hava Nagila. That was pretty much it. The rest of the episode felt more like a cheesy cartoon drama than it did a comedy.
If I had been watching it without a DVR and had to watch the commercials I would have shut it off for something else.
In fact, next week I am recording Boardwalk Empire instead.

I agree, I also enjoy a good whodunit. They are a lot of fun. Though at best, this episode was a mediocre whodunit.

I actually found it to be quite well-constructed. One of the hallmarks of a good whodunit is when it does everything in its power to keep you from so much as suspecting the truth before its time and this episode did just that.

Four things:
1) Was this supposed to be a take on an Agatha Christie/PBS Murder Mystery? If so, I guess they pulled it off perfectly.
2) It wasn't very funny in the least bit. There were a few "heh" parts, but I rarely laughed.
3) Did you guys notice the improved, almost movie like animation? I bet you they got another shipment of money in from the Fox boats this year.
4) Was this official? Are Muriel and James Woods really killed off like that? I know no one cares about the token fat chick, but we haven't seen Tom Tucker get exonerated or what's her nuts brought to justice.

See, I disagree, I think a good whodunit always rubs your face in the obvious answer, but uses misdirection to always guide your thoughts elsewhere.
At the end, you should be able to look back and say, "oh yeah... that is why so and so did that..."
During a second viewing, you should be able to almost see the crimes occurring because it is glaringly obvious.
You could watch this episode 100 times. Dianne never gave any indication of her involvement and the story was simply told at the end. Yes it had twists and turns, but nothing subtle to prove that we just missed it right infront of our faces. This was no better than a Scooby-Doo episode.
