is this normal for a boxed system? I got mine boxed for a hundred bucks at a comic shop. I should sell mine.

Same here...I paid $200 for a brand new one with 20 used games, some which were pretty rare.

No, it is not. These people is a fucking moron. From the first auction:
Quote:
Q: what make this nintendo worth so much? i got one in my basement thats barely ever been used whats it worth? Apr-29-10
A: You should sell your to. There are collectors who come on here and pay a lot of money for this. I read on the internet that some guy sold his on ebay for over $13,000. If someone is that crazy enough to pay THAT much, I thought maybe I should give it a try. Who knows? I might get lucky.
They read a news story and didn't understand it. A NES did sell for $13,000. But only because a copy of the ultra rare North American version of Stadium Events was included:
Because news outlets are irresponsible and chose to use the headline "NES console sells for 13,000" and then explain the whole/accurate story in main article, we are now stuck with a bunch of idiots who think their NES consoles are worth thousands of dollars. A sealed mint in box NES, especially one of the 1985 bundles, could probably go for a couple thousand, but other than that, not so much.
They're so stupid that only improper grammar can describe their inept intelligence?
There are a lot of what if's in life Donny. What if I hit you really hard in the face, knocked yo shit to the back of yo skull? What if I....had you girl gargle my nuts? The fact remains, you are a fuckin mutant.

I'm never selling my NES, SNES, Gameboy, Virtual Boy, Pocket Gameboy, N64, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advanced, Gamecube, DS, Wii, DSi... in retrospect I'd like to point out that I think Nintendo needed a better naming convention. Most of the names have "Game" in it

Dammit. It was early and I was barely awake. I originally thought that both auctions were the same idiot and then edit my sentence when I realized it was two separate people. NOT GOOD ENOUGH THOUGH!

These people is a fucking moron...sounds about right to me. Perhaps you don't speak jive.

Five thousand bucks? Way too early for that, wait another two decades or so.
Also, everyone gets points for funny typos and Airplane! references.

2 decades? You're better off waiting at least 50 years because there are a ton of unopened NES consoles. Part of what makes something expensive is based on how rare it is, if the demand outweighs the supply, then you might get $5,000 one day.

Considering the that older games don't deal with newer TV's right, then in a few decades you're going to have to shell out for a console and a TV that you can use to play with it.
So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

Lol, I agree, very amusing thread.

I was thinking about that the other day. I am sure old TV's will still be cheap as shit in the not-too-distant future.
Even my Atari 400 isn't worth shit yet. Wait another couple decades.

It'll be like that episode of Cowboy Bebop where they have to go on a long, difficult quest to track down a VCR.
I loved that episode. the one where they won a poker chip at a casino that had some sort of microchip inside of it was pretty amusing too.

Wasn't like the first one they grabbed in that a Betamax or something?
I still can't understand why people would want to part with their games for something other then financial reasons. Unless I need to get cash for my family quick then I'll sell the ones that I don't want, but hang on the to the ones that are near and dear to my heart.
