Exactly, FNJ. The most recent movie you mentioned was Matchstick Men from 2003, which was OK. After that nothing nothing on your list came out in the 2000s. It's been a while.

It was Kill Bill meets Superbad
The 8.5 IMDB rating gave me a good indication is was worth seeing as a low 7 rating can either be hit or miss.
I see what you are saying. There were parts I thought seemed out of place along with certain character interactions/relationships that seemed forced or weren't developed enough. There was a point in the movie the rating started going down for me before shooting back up.
It was satisfying overall and I am glad I decided to see this as I have no interested in Alice in Wonderland or anything else out right now for the most part.

Lord of War, also. And Werewolf Women of the SS.
As someone who never read the comics, I was really disappointed that one of the characters died. Really really disappointed.

Cages real problem is he loves to spend money, lots of it. And he will take any damn film to keep up that habit.

I just watched Bad Lieutenant-Port of Call New Orleans and I really enjoyed it. I have enjoyed him in many films. I kind of like all of his movies and even if the movie/his acting is bad it is still kind of good.

I apologize for insulting Nic Cage's choices. I'm not saying he personally sucks, I just think he should be more selective. Raising Arizona continues to be his best work.

Me too. I've never read them either but that just sucked. I was more upset by that than I probably should have been.

Ok, I just saw this and overall, I liked it. It was as I had expected, more comedic than a real super hero movie, but it worked well.
Hit Girl was badass, Big Daddy...well. Let's just say I don't agree with everything Nick Cage was doing in this movie as far as acting choices went. What I did approve of was his glued on mustache extensions. Some of the banter between HG and BD was hilarious in just how nonchalantly they discussed things like $300,000 purchases as though trivial and how she wanted butterfly knives for her birthday. She really kind of steals the show a lot but it's always hilarious when she does so.
Kick Ass himself was sort of the non-successful Peter Parker which was pretty much how it really would be fighting crime as a troubled teen with no real training. I thought the fact that his alter ego was a dorky comic nerd mistaken for being gay by his Mary Jane pretty much was a good touch too.
As for Red Mist; holy crap McLovin' put on some weight! He wasn't bad either though, I kinda wish they had given him more time and development. I'm kinda glad he didn't just end up a half-assed Harry Osbourne either. Though god knows what will happen in sequel...
I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting, but like I said; overall pretty sweet. Now I'm of the camp who have not read the comic (despite Jeebus trying his hardest) so I don't know what's "wrong" with the movie version but that's my opinion.

I think everyone agrees that Hit-Girl steals every scene she's in. Though the stuff at the end when Kick-Ass comes to save her was freakin awesome.
Two of the changes from the comic I can think of is that because he was found beaten up AND naked, the rumor was that he was actually working as a gay prostitute. Also, she turns him down during the reveal in her bedroom.

I just rented this.
As with most movies I haven't seen, I don't read about them, but I will see if the general vibe is positive or negative from fans. People in general said good things, so I went in expecting only what I saw in the theatrical trailer six months ago.
I was totally unprepared for this movie. The opening scene definitely brought it into perspective with the guy jumping off the roof of a building. This was a dark, adult story about vigilantism.
Once I got my head wrapped around what it was going to be, I got into it. The film was fun, original and memorable.
I definitely enjoyed. I won't be reading the comics, so I don't really care how they compare or what was changed. I look forward to the sequel that this movie seemed to line up.

I was more upset that it was Nicolas cage dying.
I like the movie, but the costumes are awful.
How does this:
turn into this?
