Does anybody else watch this, other than me?

I am a HUGE addict of CSI. (Only the original Vegas one, though)

I cannot wait for Gil to get back this week, and figure out what up's with Keppler.

He's just somehow seems ... off.

I kept seeing commercials for it during the Super Bowl... Is Liev Schreiber (sp?) the bad guy?

I do watch Vegas... but MIAMI is on tonight... and somebody dies apparently! I need to know who!
It's only 3 hours away... I felt it was gonna be Valera, but she's not in the credits for this episode. I hope it isn't Wolf or Calleigh...

Nobody knows. He's a visiting CSI from Baltimore, who is helping out while Grissom is on a personal leave of absence. He is very strange, but very skilled. He has a weird personality and puts everyone around him on edge. He keeps getting phonecalls from home, and letters pertaining to a girl named Amy who died in 1985.

The upcoming CSI Vegas episode does seem very intriguing. Keppler is just so friggin' awkward, but I actually started to like him the in the last episode. Then I saw the previews for Grissom's return and the altercation that seems to begin with Keppler, so now I hate him again because Grissom is the man.

I watch the other CSIs mainly because we don't have cable, so we only watch CBS at night because FOX and ABC don't really have anything we like to watch. I'm okay with NY, but Miami is... eh. David Caruso is a terrible, terrible actor. I constantly make fun of him during the show for wearing different masks for different emotions. Basically he has his badass mask with optional sunglasses and his sad mask. We also make fun of the fact that he says "Eric" 50 times an epsiode. It's just the way he says it.

RIP Hacker.

Sad

Grissom is the killer in "The Contender". I was so letdown and disheartened. Oh right, "Spoiler". It's such a bad movie, don't even bother. Liev was the killer in "Phantoms" but we all knew that one.

However, Liev was not the killer in Scream. Or Scream 2. Or Scream 3. Or The Omen. Or The Manchurian Candidate.

And since no one actually answered my question, I went on IMDB... It is him.

Ben Affleck was the bomb in Phantoms, or so I've heard.

Fuck that, he killed Jon Voight and that chick with the freaky, scary eyes! Wait a minute, I'm glad that chick died. I'm nearly 90% sure she was the REAL killer.

And Jon Voight was the killer in Mission: Impossible, so it all evens out.

Don't worry, Peter Graves will have his revenge. He was the killer in "House on Haunted Hill"... okay, he wasn't, but that would've improved the film a thousand fold.

The whole M:I movie franchise is based around the IMF being led by bad guys. Razz

They should've shot Caruso. They probably meant to but missed.

Lenard Nimoy and Peter Graves should show up in M:I 4 and kick the piss out of Tom Cruise. Then, the whole movie series would be redeemed.

I like CSI alright, but I hate some of their little forensics work montages. (those speechless scenes taken up by footage of the actors looking in microscopes, etc. usually accompanied by dramatic music) They've always had them, but the way they're editing them these days just looks stupid. Reminds me of the Brady Bunch opening every time.

Like that episode where Greg finds the cursed tiki, and then gets raped and murdered, and his body is found in the woods?

Granted the montages are tedious. (But you gotta have them. See: Team America Soundtrack) But, out of all the shows I have ever watched, CSI has the best music for their background. Everything from Cowboy Junkies to Radiohead to Marilyn Manson to Ancient Country Western songs. If Time/Life ever started releasing CD complilations of "The Songs of CSI", I would sign up in a heartbeat.

A few songs from the last 7 seasons:

"Mathematics" Mos Def
"Word Up" Cameo
"Lil' Devil" The Cult
"Hole" Violet
"Beethoven's 9th Symphony" Ludwig van Beethoven
"Crystal" New Order
"Glory Box" Portishead
"Hey Man Nice Shot!" Filter
"Heirate Mich" [Marry Me] Rammstein
"I'm So Lonesome, I Could Cry" Hank Williams
"Gimme All Your Lovin' "ZZ Top
"Green Onions" Booker T and the MGs
"The Fight Song" Marilyn Manson
"Outside" Staind
"Hello Spaceboy" David Bowie
"The Watcher" Dr. Dre
"Sky Blue" Peter Gabriel
"Rakim" Dead Can Dance
"Psalm 69" Ministry
"Come Into Our Room" Crystal Method
"Everything In Its Right Place" Radiohead
"Papa Loves Mambo" Dean Martin
"Closer" Nine Inch Nails
"Sit Down Stand Up" Radiohead
"There There" Radiohead
"A Punchup at a Wedding" Radiohead
"Glorious" Remy Zero
"Born Too Slow" Crystal Method
"Starting Over" Crystal Method
"Are You Going to be My Girl?" Jet
"Client" Leipzig
"Brown Bag Remix" Marilyn Manson
"Spitfire" Prodigy
"Vertigo" U2
"Links 234" Rammstein
"Cat Scratch Fever" Ted Nuget
"Tainted Love" Marilyn Manson
"Lucky, Too" Bob Neuwrith
"Mad World" Gary Jules
"Baby's Got a Temper" Prodigy
"I Want It All" Depeche Mode
"Precious" Depeche Mode
"Almost Like Being in Love" Frank Sinatra
"Where Are you" Frank Sinatra
"The Great Collapse" Nine Inch Nails
"Slipping Away" Nine Inch Nails
"The Wretched" Nine Inch Nails
"Professional Killer" KMFDM
"Clones (We're All)" Alice Cooper
"Sweet Jane" Cowboy Junkies

A lot of TV dramas end with montages... Lately, I've been wondering how they do them. They shoot full scenes and then cut them up into montages and dub music over them, or do they just shoot the 10 seconds of each scene that they need to make up the montage?

In my experience, the end montages are comprised of track shots, so just those shots are timed and recorded. Sometimes, though usually in the middle of the episode, they were full scenes but cut down and dialogue eliminated; "Alias" did this quite a bit. The key to knowing what they did, just watch how the camera moves. If it's a complicated set up, chances are they just shot the video and not sound.

Well that sucks.

Why can't they ever have anything normal happen to people?

So Keppler was raised by the father of his girlfriend (who commited suicide after she was raped.) Her dad helps him become a cop, and get him a job as a CSI, then he blackmails him into doing dirty jobs, because he has the gun that Keppler used to killed the guy who he thought had raped his girlfriend.

Then it turns out that the guy didn't do it. Her own father was raping her, and it ends when Keppler and his girlfriend's father shoot each other to death!?!

Dammit. I was hoping they were going to keep him around for awhile, or have him pop back in from time to time.

Now, I am just waiting fot two things:
1. For Grissom to open the box on his desk, that contains another crimescene minature in it, and how Grissom is going to react to it.

2. To find out what's in the cacoon that Grissom gave Sara.

This is Grissom we are talking about. He knows bugs inside and out. He may have stashed a ring in there or something.
