I bought Kengo. It only cost me $2 brand new at Future Shop, but that game is fucking terrible.

Hehe one of my friends bought that game and didn't like it, so he gave it to me. I haven't played it yet.

I lost nearly all of my old PC games, including:
D/Generation on floppy
Kings Quest VII on CD-ROM
Betrayal at Krondor on CD-ROM
The President is Missing on floppy
Earthsiege on CD-ROM
Mad Dog McCree on CD-ROM
The 7th Guest on CD-ROM
I would continue but now I'm too damn depressed.

Don't play it Grover, unless you're really into max 2-hit combos, and the clunkiest combat ever.

My only video game regret is my first playthrough of Pokemon Yellow. I was eight at the time, and didn't know that the game saves after the credits when you beat the Elite Four; I turned the game off immediately when it said "The End" and started a new game. The problem with this is that I somehow managed (on my first playthrough, no less) to mow through the entire game using only a Pidgeot. I really wish I still had that thing, it had to have been at least level 82...

Okay okay, I guess I take a lot of shit for this. I probably didn't like Dragon Warrior because it wasn't my first RPG. My first was Final Fantasy. Then I'd played Ultima: Avatar, Ultima: Exodus (which I didn't care for much) and Destiny of an Emperor. Then after all those I played Dragon Warrior which was really lame in comparison. I think at the time I felt that a game with just one party member playing in RPG fashion was redundant. I think it would have been better if it had played more Zelda-like. Also the dialogue was laughable. 'Thou art dead'. That's pretty bad.

I sold my ps1.. that's probably it. I have a ps2 and ps3 anyway but it would still be nice to have it.
I remember i sold it for £30..
two controllers
Syphon Filter 2
Omega Boost
I think that was all.
All just to buy a pair of rollerblades....which i never bought.

It's an easy mistake to make. Yellow was definitely one of the hardest pokemon games. Especially Pikachu vs. Brock.
I've a pidgeot related story.
Years and years ago when red and blue first came out here, my mate organized a sleep over of sorts with me owning red, him owning red and another mate of his owning red. The idea was that we battled and traded pokemon not in our versions to each other.
So i remember falling asleep about 1am and waking up the next morning to find that alas my pidgeot was gone....
My mate had traded him over to his game while i was asleep.
Thinking back to it now it's quite amusing... i was even discussing it with said mate the other day. Especially amusing considering how ridiculous it was to trade that you had to press the button on both games exactly.

Against my better judgment, I let my little sister borrow my DS so she could play my copy of Scribblenauts. Seven months later, she still hasn't followed through on her promise to replace it.

21 years later my original NES still works! I never owned a game genie though. I rented one once, but didn't care for it much.

Game Genie was cool when you didn't want to spend your entire summer trying to beat a game, but no game genie code ever gave you the ability to kill Dracula in Castlevania easily.

I have a ps2 now, but that's only because my ps1 crapped out. I still only have ps1 games.

Ok so reading this thread make me register and share a story from a long long time ago that I have yet to share with anyone...
The year was somewhere around 1989-1990, I cant exactly remember. That would have put me at about 7 or 8 years old. I did something to earn my dad taking me to blockbuster to rent a game for the weekend... Who the fuck knows what I did, maybe got a good grade or something... anyways, I was looking for something new to try, and what do I see? X-MEN for the NES!! Keep in mind, this was before the big comic/x-men popularity surge in the early 90s, so they weren't as well known to me at the time as someone like spider-man would be, but whatever, the cover looked cool, and I was on my way home with a fun game to play for the weekend!! ... at least I thought...
As a child, I played many bad games, but never in my entire fucking life have I played something that was such fucking garbage. I vividly remember me sitting in my room for maybe 4 or 5 minutes, before realizing what a terrible choice I made. HOW THE FUCK WAS THIS PIECE OF SHIT GAME ABOUT SUPER HEROES?? So I remember I went outside to this porch/deck thing we had and my dad was working on something, and he was like 'how come ur not playing the new game??' I honestly cant remember what I exactly said, but I just remember having this feeling of not wanting to upset him that I thought the game fucking blew ass. I'm pretty sure I didn't turn the game on again, and most likely returned it early. So FUCK that game, and fuck the fact that I had this terrible feeling of pretending to be happy about a game that fucking blew ass... UGH.

I have the inside scoop that the first challenge in the next NES Championship will be to beat this game with all 6 playable characters. That's right...beat it six times. Start practicing now!

X-Men on the NES isn't particularly bad, you just can't tell what the heck is going on half the time, floating...enemy...things...appear out of nowhere, and the hit detection on melee attacks is absolutely horrible. Which is to say, it's bad.

X-men was horrible, but I played the crap out of that game when I was a kid. I just remember being terribly disappointed that Wolverine sucked so bad.

| Meatloaf, Soul Calibur 2 is super easy to get. It was massively overproduced, especially for the GCN/PS2. I picked up the PS2 version recently on Amazon for 10.78, sealed. You'll have to go to eBay for the GCN version, but it's equally cheap. |
Still pissed as shit that I sold it. I Didn't have enough money to get it again when I wanted it a month later.

In my pre-NES days I kicked my Atari 400 and broke it( out of anger of course). This was after they stopped making them. So without internet it was hard to find another one. Some of you younger ones may not remember the days before internet but we had to consult the classifieds.

classifieds, yard sales, garage sales, swap meet, flea market, asking friends to ask friends, asking cousins to ask cousins.
you really really had to network back then to get what you were looking for.
my dad was a truck driver, so he would look around while driving around the country.

I sold Dragon Warrior, because I was rather stupid, I lost my first copies of Pokemon Blue and Yellow, which I loved, along with Final Fantasy Legend II, and recently I sold Left 4 Dead to pay for Assassin's Creed II, which I love, but there have been days where I just want to massacre a horde of zombies.
