So, did anyone else go and see it? It was pretty good, a great action movie. If oyu ahve any respect for Greek/Roman myths though, don't see it hoping it's a good as representation as the original. Seems like the director/scriptwriter glossed over the original material and just said 'eh'

^ I figured that when I saw that the Kraken looked more like Doom 3''s Hell Knight than any sort of Greek monster I've ever seen.
Still, if the action scenes are good enough to carry it, I'm more than happy to sit back with a bowl of popcorn and enjoy.

I saw it today as well in 3D, I thought even if it didn't exactly follow the original, was a great action movie in general. All the main actors I thought were very likeable. The Krakken, Medusa, Charon, and all mythical creatures looked very good, and the Gin, I believe looked a lot like a Star Wars race.

I heard from about 6 different people that it's god-awful. The only thing they kept from the original is the Kraken fight, and they cut that down to almost nothing.
I wasn't going to really seek this out anyways, since I didn't care too much for the original, granted I saw it when I was 15, so it looked pretty bad.

Like I said though, this is a great action movie. The fight with the scorpions are fantastic, the fight with Medusa is also fantastic. The characters are likeable..it's just not Clash of the Titans.
also, it's pronounced djinn
you know
those things from the qu-ran
and not from greek mythology
in any capacity
whatsoever
at all

The one thing I have heard over and over again is that if you are going to see it in theaters don't see it in 3-D it is god awful, I also heard the bulk of the performers phoned it in. Pure rental if you ask me

Nah, whoever told you that was wrong. Liam Neesom is as awesome as he always is, and a lot of the guys in the group of soldiers with Perseus were all great.

While I hate to dismiss 3D, the very idea that movies suck without it causes me to distance myself from it. No movie should ever have to fully rely on visuals to get it's point across.

Overall I enjoyed the movie. Not as good as the original and I still don't think Medusa should look as pretty as she did. The soldiers that were helping Perseus were pretty enjoyable. The two hunters were fairly entertaining also. One thing I didn't like was how none of the gods/goddesses other than Zeus and Hades really did anything or even had any real kind of impact on the story. The original at least gave these other characters something to do than just stand around.

The mechanical owl from the original makes a cameo appearance but it just feels like they shoehorned it into the film for fan service. It didn't need to be in the film at all. Perseus basically picks it up, says something like "What is this?" Then another guy tells him to leave it. I'm not against fan service. I like being rewarded for seeing the movies that came before in a series and all that but when fan service is done badly it really shows. I mean have the own swoop in and actually try to help. In the remake they basically pick it up, show it to the camera and toss it aside.
Aside from those points I found it enjoyable.

i thought this movie was fucking horrible.
crappy acting, crappy story progression, crappy everything.
definitely just an action movie, and mostly one designed for kids since there is no character development at all.
this fucking movie ruined my movie day and my buzz. i was so disgusted afterwards i didnt even feel like watching a 3rd movie.
