In it, Niitsuma says that a we could be hearing about a new versus game from Capcom this year.

"I would love to do more versus series, more types of games like Marvel Vs. Capcom 2," Niitsuma said. "There are all of these possibilities working with other companies, seeing what we could do with them. There are so many game companies I'd love to work with.

"If sales are really good (for Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars) then you can see an announcement within this year," he said.

Also, there's Capcom's annual big news event happening next week in Hawaii. They've got to have something to knock our socks off with right?

Don't worry, we'll be there live to deliver all of the news, impressions and interviews live from the island state.

Parts bolded for emphasis, but I'm still labeling this as a rumor-- We've all been burned on these deals countless times, and we all know not to really trust people not involved with the original company that much.

BUT I WANT TO BELIEVE.

A bunch of sites did MVC3 as an April Fools' Day joke, so I'm wary of this.

But if MVC3 is real, and if it remains 2D, will likely be on all three platforms. The only reason MVC2 is not on the Wii is because Capcom's licensing deal doesn't allow them to re-release it as a disc and Nintendo currently imposes size limits on WiiWare/VC games.

And Nintendo sucks. They don't make games that involve shooting non-white people who live in incorrect countries in the face, and those are the only games that are any fun. If I don't get at least ten new versions of Just Cause Clancy's Modern Desert Splinter Brothers: Duty Heroes Army War Battlefront every year, I get really angry and torture small animals to death. I'm slowing working my way up to humans.

First, I agree with your heavy-handed sarcasm. For the most part (at least with first-party titles), Nintendo keeps it real and still makes great and original games. I could be considered a "fanboy" by most standards.

On that note, Just Cause 2 is one of the most fun games I have played in recent memory and there is much more to it than "shooting people in the face" (although head shots are encouraged).

There is no reason to drag this great game into your bitch fest.

That would never happen at this point (unless they went the Blazblue approach, which would kickass but would be highly unlikely). I predict that they would essentially use the TvC engine (maybe add some more sheen and polish since it would be multi-console). I think that engine is pretty fantastic. Hopefully they will bring back three punches and three kicks rather then three generic attack buttons, but honestly it would not be too much of big deal.

i believe it would remain 2d. capcom favors 2d more than 3d. so if it is real, i am psyched

we already know that if this gets the same love and attention that street fighter 4 and tatsunoko vs capcom got, people will complain that the roster isn't 3423-4924 people, and if it's a rehash sprite swap extravaganza, people will complain that it's a rehash sprite swap extravaganza.

I really don't foresee them using sprites (although, new, redrawn HD sprites would be unbelievable).

I really like the TvC style, it is essentially 2D and looks gorgeous, it also lends itself to some pretty over the top supers.

Like I said before. I want at least one Ace Attorney character in the next game. It's been far too long.

Also, I think the 3D look of Tatsunoko v. Capcom needs a lot of work if it's to be used again.

I was just exaggerating. I meant that it works, but it isn't perfect. They do not look pretty up close. I suspect that a sequel to it will use more close-up shots and it's just jarring to look at for too long.

Ehh, yea your right to a degree, but the main comabt looks fantastic and fluid. Also, a release as major as MvC3 would for certain be on the next gen consoles, therefore would have HD graphics by default (problem solved).

If you're talking about their censorship, that's so 1993. They gave that up when the ESRB was invented, and that was only NOA. That era ended with the release of MK2 on the SNES. Street Fighter 2 HD? Puzzle Fighter 2 HD? Granted those are remakes, but it's not like Capcom doesn't still do 2D, and it's not like people don't like.

Also, you know what the worst part of MVC2 was? Those shitty 3D backgrounds. They were ugly and out of place. Second worst thing? PIXELATED END BOSS.

You're absolutely right. I was just looking for something to point out. Graphics are actually my second concern. Since I main Gold Lightan, I'm just curious as to how giants are going to continue on in this series.

I don't think we need another MvC game. There aren't many other characters they could add to make it a must have. I think they should focus on other properties for the next vs. game.

Disagree 100%.

There are a bunch of Marvel characters I would love to see in this franchise that have yet to be included, not even obscure characters but obvious choices that have been left out (like any of the Fantastic Four, Nightcrawler, Hawkeye, Thor etc..).
