In a grim neo-cyber post-apocalyptic future, civilization has been dissolved, politics forgotten, religion forsaken. The survivors of the massive genocide-level global warming massacre (and afterwards the following horrible terrorist-funded massive-hadron-collision-based nuclear winter) are left with nothing and can trust no one.
In this world, little is loved, worshiped, and praised. Locked in an eternal struggle, only two things are real: the Leftsiders and the Rightsiders. Only one group can emerge victorious in this futuristic wasteland.
This
Is
PONG
The choice is yours. Good or evil? Lawful or chaotic? Left or Right? Do you make the choices, or do the choices make you?

I would like to see reimaginings/sequels of the following games:
Crystalis
Little Nemo: the Dream Master
Edit: The Guardian Legend too, obviously.

blaster master has a sequel remake of sorts. |
I was just about to bring that up.

Also, there was apparently a sequel released on Sega Genesis that I hadn't even heard of until today.

I have Blaster Master 2 on the Sega Genesis, however that version of the first one looks pretty cool. I guess I'll have to save up to buy a Wii. There's also a game called 'Blaster Master: Blasting Again' on the PS1, however it's nothing like the original.

I would remake something that had potential, but sucked. Like maybe the Mega Man Legends games. I would not remake anything that was actually good in the first place, especially a Final Fantasy game, because THE GAME WAS GOOD IN THE FIRST PLACE AND IS STILL FUCKING GOOD. Also, most of those remakes have fucking sucked. The only remakes that have caught me as especially "done right" are Kirby: Nightmare In Dreamland and Kirby Super Star Ultra.
No Zelda remakes, no Mario remakes, no Metroid remakes, no Castlevania remakes, no Final Fantasy remakes. NO NO NO NO NO NO.
I would second an ActRaiser remake. ActRaiser was fun, but the SimCity aspects of it always seemed a little half-assed. If they could find a way to make the game a little more involving, that could be cool. |
In that case, a sonic game.Sonic Unleashed was kinda crappy.

Casino Kid. They should update the graphics (obviously) and have a fuller array of games, but the concept needs to stay the same: a kid taking down an evil casino owner. That game had potential but the playability was annoying at times. Fix that and include some solid poker A.I. and you have a winner.

There's a lot of games I want to see remade or revisited; so much so that the art of remaking things is kind of my senior project.
I want to see another Bard's Tale. Like the 1984 one, not the "new one" that wasn't a remake at all. That one was fun, it just sort of missed the point of what it kept saying it wanted to do.
There's this old game on the Amiga called Hunter that I think would be perfect for a remake given the way the industry's going right now. It's an expansive sandbox game where you're given a goal and you have to explore to find clues and informants to figure out how to complete that goal. It's a little like Mercenaries or Just Cause, where you get credits for blowing up tangential things like fuel dumps and armories.
There's another Amiga game called Castles where you build a castle while dealing with Celtic raiders and affairs of state. I think it'd be really good on a portable like the DS or even the iPhone perhaps. It's not really something you want to play all the time (gets amazingly boring real quick, kind of a sit and watch game like SimCity can be), but might be fun as sort of a time-waster.

I'm sorry Syd but I would very much like to see an aweomse RPG remade. I would really like to see either Secret of Mana completely redone, or atleast ported to the DS with additions. Kinda like what they did with Chrono Trigger.

Yeah, as much as I (sort of) agree with Syd, there are some awesome classic games that I would love to see remade. They are:
Ocarina of Time. Yes, the original is a nearly flawless classic, but as long as they preserve the maps, layouts and other important elements, I see no reason why a graphical and UI update would be a bad thing. Not to mention they could eliminate the nagging of that fucking, FUCKING fairy that refuses to just let me enjoy riding around and exploring the world.
For that matter, I would LOVE on so many levels to see the original Legend of Zelda remade in the 3D style of the modern Zeldas. It would be familiar enough to still be completely awesome, yet different enough to have a brand new sense of discovery about it. I think it could work really, really well.
I wouldn't mind a remake of the original Final Fantasy in 3D either, for very much the same reason.

Definitely a remake of Startropics and/or Startropics II. It's perfect for the WII, they could use the nun-chuk for the yo-yo, and the balance board even, for jumping across blocks.

I'd definitely like to see a good remake of Cool Spot. A reimagining of Chuck Rock would be nice.(I think I'm the only one who liked that game) And maybe an Abadox remake on Xbox Live or Virtual Console.

"HEY" "LISTEN" "HELLO" "LOOK" "WATCH OUT"
I actually found Navi quite endearing and helpful. Then again, it takes a lot to annoy me.

Yeah, me too. Nobody seems to like her, but she was OK by me... but did she really say "hello"? I can't remember o.o

They should remake Battletoads! That'd be a sweet remake, and it would be even cooler if they had the Double Dragons in it!! Battletoads and Double Dragon was such a great game... they were the Ultimate Team! A Sunset Riders remake would also be pretty badass.

Tatl did have infinitely more personality because it felt like she had a n actual motive. But navi is a classic, if I remember a fairy I remember navi, and certainty not tatl's brother. Also the two fairy's in Majora's mask were straight up douche bags. They knocked link off his horse.

They should make a game called 'Mario vs Mega Man'. Not really a remake, just kind of a new video game idea.
