Here's an odd game I've had for a while that i forgot to put on the list, it's odd because you're in a land vehicle.

I wish all the arcade shmups started you back at the beggining of the level when you continue, rather than from the exact spot you died, but of course they're partly designed to keep you pumping coins in. Some of them do start you back at the beggining of the level or a checkpoint, which is great, as for the ones that don't, i think it's best to see just how far you can get with one credit otherwise it feels like you're just bumbling on through, which is not fun at all.

I'd like to note, that there is a TwinBee on the VC for wii in the Turbo GFX 16 section. Surprisingly, my mom and dad used to play Stinger all the time after us kids went to bed... funny now because my dad hates Video Games...
That's Detana. Get it when you can, it's totally worth the extra points.

Anyone ever play the Shanghai Alice bullet hell games? They are all kinds of pretty.
You mean the Touhou series, which was mentioned earlier. I've played all of them from the first to Shoot the Bullet (9.5) and 11. They're cool and well-made with great music but I'm not a super fan of 'em or anything like the fandom I've witnessed.

Mazinger Z (fuck yeah).
I never knew that existed. I loved Tranzor Z as a kid, and I would have loved to have played a game based on it. I have to look that one up too.
(Off topic, but try the SNES game too while you're at it, then... it's an interesting one-plane beat 'em up; Y does normal fighting moves while you can press Y + up to use the attack you select with A (photon beam, breast/chest fire, rust hurricane, etc.) and L and R launches a rocket punch on the corresponding arm.)
I cam tell you're quite the connoisseur Bomberman, do you prefer bullet hell or the more classic style?

Castle of Shikigami III, released in North America on the Wii and as a PC/Wii/Arcade/360 game in Japan was pretty awesome.
10 different playable characters each with their own story. Not only that, but every possible 2 character combination (as selected in either co-op or the single player Dramatic Change mode) had its own story as well.
^ No european release? we've been getting shafted since the 80's.

Just learned about Cute 'Em Ups and found out DeathSmiles will be getting a US release soon.
Can anyone recommend any good CEUs that got American releases? Must be bullet hell style and be on one of the following systems: XBX/360, PS2, GCN/Wii, DS, DC, GBA

DeathSmiles ay? nice! Cave make some of the best bullet hell games.
It's hard to really find any bullet hell Cute'Em Ups, but please let us know what you come up with.

Honestly, I just want something that isn't Parodius or Fantasy Zone. Especially Fantasy Zone. Fantasy Zone is pedestrian. And I've already played all the Parodius games.

I've heard nothing but good things about Star Parodier.
It's a TG-16 game that's available on VC.

So guys, remember what I said about Otomedius earlier in the thread? Well...
Link is exactly what it says on the tin, which means it's coming out here in the US. But before you guys go to the nearest GameStop to preorder (if you're interested), wait for Konami themselves to make a more thorough announcement about it, because:
A: it might not really be $59.99
B: if -all- the DLC will be on disc. This'll be the dealmaker (or breaker), as the game in Japan was basically Konami's experiment with downloadables, and as a result, a metric ton of overpriced content (including more ships, a 5th or 6th level, etc.) was released on the Marketplace, totalling another $40. Hopefully the American branch knows we won't stand for such buttfuckery.
