so, i bought my PS3 off the best buy website (dont know why i didnt think of that before) and should arrive in about 1-2 weeks. then i can finally play this game.

Not really interested. Kratos was interesting in the first game, but by the second game he had turned into kind of a douche. In God of War 2, he's become more or less as douchey and arrogant as Ares was. He becomes an unsympathetic character and his quest for revenge against Zeus is dumb. Here's the plot of God of War 2:
1. The other gods don't want to hang out with Kratos.
2. Kratos decides to use the Spartans to conquer Greece.
3. Kratos is repeated warned not to try and conquer Greece.
4. Kratos tried to conquer Greece anyway.
5. Zeus kills Kratos for being insolent.
6. Kratos embarks on a quest of revenge against Zeus for killing him... even though Kratos deserved it
From there, the franchise just gets convuluted and bizarre. The gameplay is definitely fun and has a ridiculously epic feel to it, but the plot is complete shit. It basically degenerated into "How many characters from Greek mythology can we have Kratos fight?"

yeah, GoW2's story was stupid. the story in the first game was leagues better, but since i have beaten both games, i am interested to see how the series ends.

Wow I couldn't disagree more about god of war 2, but yeah Kratos is a piece of shit. User before you pick up the PS3 make sure to grab the blutooth remote control, you are really going to want that.

Eh... I was more of a Devil May Cry... At least till 4. I found it a lot more fun then GoW and at least Dante was a BAMF.

the only one i played was DMC3 and the first part pissed me off. i didnt care for Dante's pretty boy looks, and how they made him be a badass was annoying. that whole sequence w/the pizza was too much for me

Well Syd GoW2 was rather pisspoor in terms of storytelling. And Kratos is far and away douchey for the VAST majority of god of war 3. Not going into any details here, but I think the end is very fitting.

To be frank, I found three to not be as good as the first one, at least his bad assery was in check when the first one was out. The second it still was pretty badass but to many plot holes...

Yea I thought 3 was the strongest of the series, followed by 1 and then 2, for PS2. DMC4 is pretty sweet as well.
