I love that scene. I know Nicholas cage loves comic books and all, but I really wish they had a more badass actor. In the end I know he's a good choice, but his voice kinda bothers me for the role. That girl is really good in the scene though. Nice to see she can actually act and wasn't just cast as "the only 10 or 11 year old we can find whose parents will actually allow their daughter to say and do all this shit".

Ya know what? I think that Nic Cage's manic acting and less than heroic appearance will work for bloody once, and this movie won't suck for his presence.

Still very pumped for this movie.
I agree Jeebus, I kinda wish they had a more gruff, badass guy for the role, but after seeing Cage in that trailer I am pretty convinced he will be able to pull it off.
Chloe Moretz is also perfect as Hit Girl, can't wait to see some more action scenes with her, seems very aligned with the books based on the clips I have seen.

This was screened with about 12 other unreleased movies at an annual film festival (Coverage on ain't it cool news), and apparently Kick-Ass was, by FAR, the audience favorite of the festival. And they showed Avatar there.

Small gripe about the film portrayal of Big Daddy.
I wish he had the exact same mask with the covered mouth and opened up top of the head.
That is all.

Yeah, but it's a very minor gripe. Remember what they did to Veidt's costume in "Watchmen" and this doesn't seem so bad.

Wow...that actually looks really bad ass. I've always been skeptical of Kick-Ass in general because Jeebus likes it and I frequently question his taste but I'm interested now.

I don't think I like anything you dislike, I just don't like all the stuff that you like...which is odd because you hate everything and everyone.

Phew, after seeing the family-friendly-looking trailer on TV set to that tired Joan Jett song, I was worried, but after seeing the Red Band, it looks like they're on the right track.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind. |

Just saw the movie. As a movie, it was really good and entertaining. However, it fell far short of what it should have been. I don't know who's to blame, but they ripped the balls right off of this movie, and gave it the Poochie treatment, turning it into the soulless byproduct of committee thinking, being unfaithful to the story in the parts that mattered most and falling prey to a lot of the cheesy Hollywood pratfalls.
It was still good, but you'll enjoy it more if you haven't read the book. If you HAVE read the book, try to forget everything you read.
FOR THOSE THAT DID READ THE BOOK: There is one fantastic thing about this movie: myself, my bosses, and all of our customers had a huge issue trying to figure out who the character on the last page of issue #8 was. (Way to go, Romita!) If you had a similar issue, this movie will answer the question with 100% certainty.

I just got back from seeing it and I really enjoyed it. It was pretty violent and some of the kills were pretty sweet.

Romita's art didn't make it exactly clear. Wasn't sure if it was him, or someone else altogether.
