I wish I could say I don't believe this, but that's not true. I took a call once while I worked for Samsung and walked an older gentlemen through hooking up his DVD player to the TV. After we had finished and I was wrapping up the call, he said, "So that's all there is to it? I played that Geek Squad to do this for me last time and it cost me $200." I have not felt the same about Geek Squad or even Best Buy since.

RIP Hacker.

I can assure you as a former employee that best buy salesmen DO NOT make any sort of comission or add on pay. Quite the opposite. If you don't sell ENOUGH you get in trouble.

How is getting in trouble for not selling enough the opposite of getting a bonus for selling a lot?

Possibly because in one form you are making commission, and in the other you are not.

there's a difference between "I can pay my bills, but If I get this guy to buy a bigger TV I can have ice cream, too." and "If I don't sell this guy a bigger TV I won't be able to pay my bills."

I didn't ask how they were different, I asked how they were opposites. Opposites are things that are as different as they can be. The opposite of commission would be if they took money away if you sold more, or gave you a bonus for selling less. Those are just different, and even then, not very. Yours is negative reinforcement, comission's positive. Exact same message, though.

<Drew_Linky> Well, I've eaten vegetables all of once in my life.
