Although they are extremely hit-and-miss with me, I love Gorillaz. To me, they are kind of like Gnarls Barkley in the sense where you will probably need to listen through the albums multiple times before you really find anything to respect.

I will have to pick up this album, and the song in the video is pretty nice. My favorite album was their debut one - probably somewhat because of the nostalgia, but also because most every song on that album was a winner. Demon Days is good, but I only like about half of its songs. The remixes from those two albums usually aren't very good, in my opinion, but there are a few out there.

Gnarls Barkley is pretty good. 'Crazy' got some good airtime so I picked up the St. Elsewhere album, somewhat expecting more stuff like 'Crazy' to be in it. Turns out that, in my opinion, Gnarls Barkley's style is very flexible and covers many genres, and this is noticeable from song to song. After a few more listens, St. Elsewhere is one of my favorite albums, though some songs are much better than others. I'd also have to say that, overall, St. Elsewhere has more substance than The Odd Couple, although The Odd Couple's good ones are just excellent.

I'll like this back to Gorillaz by saying that Gnarls Barkley's flexible style reminded me of Gorillaz. This is an interesting way to make an album since, yeah, it will probably be hit-and-miss, but it can also introduce you to new genres and styles that you may not have noticed before. I'm going to have to say again that Gorillaz remix songs usually aren't too good. Maybe this is because taking an varied-style song and then completely restyling it again is too much for me.

Random: I played both of these bands for my dad once, and he commented on 'em with "new-age-hippie-bullshit'.

Oh, yeah, I remember watching that Toonami late-night episode with the various animated music videos. The Tomorrow Comes Today video was one of the trippiest things my young eyes had seen at the time. Nowadays, it's still interesting to watch, but it probably hasn't aged too well.


As for the song itself, it's one of my favorites. After watching this again, I'd have to say the ending instrumental part of the video is still pretty cool.
