FMVs were a dumb idea.
But I also say bring the 3D on-- Unlike in the 50s, 60s, and 80's, they have the technology now to make it actually look good. |
To be honest, I am aware that 3D finally advanced properly.
I'm just against the idea that any movie + 3D = Oscar Winner (thank goodness that didn't happen...).
My whole thing against Avatar is just the same as the whole thing with FF VII: People hyped the hell out of it, and by the time I get to try it out, backlash kicks in:
"Yeah, it's good, but it's not the masterpiece you claim it is..."
Plus Avatar has probably the biggest gathering of fantards ever since Naruto came out.
Back in topic, for the time being, 3D should be optional, not a requirement, hence the movie should be able to stand out on its on with or without it. If a movie's only good when on it's on 3D, it only means that movie was one dimensional to begin with. Besides, what about those with one functional eye? "3D is here to stay! Sucks to be you!"
And seriously, do you really want any,
ANY movie to be in 3D? Do you want that one unfunny annoying actor to become even more annoying by standing right next to you? Do you really want Fan Disservice smearing right in your face?
Just my thoughts.
