As Syd has shown in several of his articles, he's been willing to track down and consume long-expired foodstuffs (and a Pepsi) for internet fame. Recently my aunt was clearing out the basement and discovered several cans of liquid refreshment from the 90's:
Georgia brand canned Coffee from Japan (I can only assume we have this because an extended family member was over the Pacific and decided to send some back for a larf). Cappucino, Espresso, Tasty, and Original flavors.
Two 250 ml cans of Coke. Regular Coke and Coke Light
And even a few native cans. The one on the left indicates it came out for Super Bowl XXVIII, the four cans on the right are for the "1992 Olympic Celebration" (featuring Izzy, the mascot for the '96 Olympics who was introduced at the closing of the '92 Olympics in Barcelona). A quick search on eBay turns up the Olympics ones are only worth about .75 each
This is nice and all, but did you drink any of them?
I don't care for coffee but I did try the 250 ml regular Coke. It tasted fine, but after about 15-20 minutes the flavor settled and changed into something not quite palatable. I had to pour the rest out (around 2/5ths left) and it fizzed down the drain. Other people here tried the English language cans without any problems in taste. I'll let you guys know what the coffee tasted like as soon as I can get someone to try it.
