Brad Pitt to Make “Vlad” Dracula Movie
Summit Entertainment, the studio behind the “Twilight” franchise, is developing Dracula movie titled “Vlad.” |
http://www.filmofilia.com/2009/12/09/brad-pitt-to-make-vlad-dracula-movie/
pitt knows a thing or two about being a vampire (interview w/the vampire) but im not sure how i feel about this project.
on the one hand, i am a pitt fan. might even have a man crush on him, who knows? but if the twilight studio is behind this, then they might pussy up the Vlad Tepes legend.

Not really a Brad Pitt fan. Not that he's a bad actor per se, but I think he benefits from the fact that he's usually in good movies. I don't think he makes movies good.

Considering Charlie Hunnam (JAX-SOA) wrote the script for this I am eagerly awaiting the film. Most if not all retellings of the actual man have been low budget disappointments, this however will be a big budget movie with hopefully a lot of collaboration behind it and if it stays true to the actual history and leaves the vampire bullshit aside, this could well prove to be one hell of a epic movie.

Well I will have to see this, Twilight studios be damned, a movie about Vlad could be very good with a big budget.

Mel Gibson should have made a Vlad Tepes movie.

Tim Burton Hunts Abe Lincoln & Vampires
Steven Spielberg and screenwriter Tony Kushner have spent years trying to frame an epic film about President Lincoln and his agonizing decision to prolong the war and crush the South because it was the only way to abolish slavery. But now I've learned that directors Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov have found another angle on the Lincoln story: Abe's lifelong mission to kill vampires. They'll produce with Jim Lemley a movie adaptation of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, the Seth Grahame-Smith novel that Grand Central Publishing released today. |

I loved the original From Dusk Till Dawn. A cool crime story with a vampire story too.
