I've never met a furry, but everyone has a fetish. If someone is a nutjob, they'll be a nutjob regardless of sexual preferances.

I know at least two people who call themselves furries that I can also call well-adjusted. But that's just going by the way they conduct themselves on the internet, but hey.

I think on the nicer side, some furries can be normal people that just like sex with fur on it.

My Now Former best friend is a furry. Since he declared he was a furry he's gone from Asexual, to Bisexual to Full on flaming homo.

He grew up a sonic fan...

This other kid was just a total sub. I finally said FUCK It when he told me some girl was on and as long as she was on line he couldn't masturbate. Unlike my friend I never met this guy but he freaked me the fuck out.

Then there was MTV Special......

I think the best comparison to furries might be the Mormons. The faction that gets the most attention is the one the majority of the group stays away from.

Here's another odd thing.

I have not once met a Furry that was Heterosexual. They're either Bi, Gay, Bi Leaning gay or Pansexual.

NOT that one's orientation matters I just find that odd.

I really don't think that's an insult, more of an insight. For a less religious sense, it's like saying PETA could be a great group to be involved with but what people hear about are those who go out and dump buckets of blood onto fur coat wearing rappers.

I think what was being said was that most Mormons are as sane as everyone else. However, if you were to ask a random person about Mormonism, they would talk about polygamy and the arranged marriage of young girls to older folks, which has long since been outlawed by the most denominations of the Mormon church.

On the thread topic: I'm perfectly happy to live and let live. You be who you are and I'm happy not to judge as long as what you're doing isn't illegal/amoral, and you're not shoving it in my face.

A specific case of furries acting sensible and level-headed from just last year:
One nutter of the fandom (Troy Whitson) disclosed to two of his fellow furries that he'd been engaging in bestiality with his two pet malamutes (by performing the act in front of them). Some people would think those friends would then ask if they could get in on the action, but these two guys wound up calling the police on his ass. I believe the dogs were given to shelters or a foster home situation and the deviant was sentenced to 30 days in jail and denied ownership of any pet for two years.

The "or amoral" part of kind of takes away from the nobility of the statement, though, as moreality means different things to different people. You might have nothing wrong with homosexuals, for example, but in another's eyes, that would be a horrible sin.
