20 Plus years I've been playing Mega Man Games. Save for the EXE games and ZX (not a fan of ZX) As a Huge fan I love discussing Mega man Lore So lets do it.
Mega Man 10 has quite a few twists in the Wily/Mega Saga. and I'm sure we all thought TIE IN WITH X when Robotenza was mentioned. I think sooner rather than later we'll see this though some Mega Nerds INSIST that X is an entirely separate series and there IS no connection (these people also cover their ears and go LALALALALALA when I mention Bass' ending in Power Battles)
NOW I think at some point Odds are that Dr Wily probably will get Mega Man. I mean SOMETHING had to happen to inspire Dr Light to Build X and it does seem Wily not Dr Light Invented the Reploid if Zero was built before X. We also really have no idea How Zero was woken up we know X was woken up first but there's a Huge Gap Between X waking up and the production or Reploids and exactly how Zero was woken up.
So our first question is... What happend that inspired X to be created?
Inafune did say that Zero did not go Berserk and kill everyone.
Next Question...Could Wily and Mega Man have the Tom and Jerry Complex? They don't really hate each other they're just playing? (beat Mega Man 10 you'll see why I bring this up then)
I had an idea that the EXE Series could have been a Dream Zero Had while he was sealed away. Just an idea.
There are some Huge Gaps in the Time line, at least 100-200 years between X6 and Zero 1 (My guess is X7 and X8 are either side stories, what ifs or alternate timeline since they contradict Zero's ending in X6 which sets up the Zero series) What do you think happend from then until the start of Zero? Then the century Gap between Zero and ZX and finally the thousands of years between ZX and Legends.
And the final Question... Could it be that Dr Light steals all Dr Wily's Ideas?
Raise your own Mega Man Questions I think if anything we should have a rather amazing chat about the greatest Blue Video game character of all time (sorry Sonic)
By the way speaking of sonic I noticed that Dr Wily and Mega Man's relationship is the opposite of Sonic and Eggmans. Wily usually Acts good towards mega and Light then Turns on them. In the Case of Sonic and Eggman Eggman has evil plot it backfires and thus he has to work with Sonic to fix his own fuck up.
hmm...

I read like half of that and then started going LALALALALA.
seriously though, originally X was more of a reimagining. power battles also wasn't originally canon. The ending was something called fanservice. X4 went and fucked that up by showing that whole Dr. Wily made Zero thing. It's important to remember that these games were all made seperately, and storyline really wasn't a factor like it is nowadays. it's almost like ten years later, when games have progressed to the point where an ongoing storyline that engages the player is important, gamers began trying to squeeze water out of stone, which lead to capcom trying their hardest to put plot points in to make such a thing possible.
personally, I don't really give a shit, as long as people realize that X and Rock aren't the same megaman. There's also no way that Protoman could be Zero, like most people also try to say.
Megaman and Megaman X are supposed to be seperate series originally, with MMZ being a "sequel" to MMX and ZX being a sequel to MMZ.
Starforce, .EXE, and legends are all seperate entirely.

The Mega Man story is a rip-off of the centuries-old legend of Goku vs. Lex Luthor. Mega Man is like Lex Luthor. Every time that Goku (Dr. Wily) starts to do something cool, Luthor shows up and wrecks him with some Kryptonite.

That's Funny DC never did do a Journey to the sun retelling.
All that stuff I typed was late night rumblings in my brain.
I'm pretty sure Mega man himself is an Homage to Astro Boy.

Normally I wouldn't care either ( IE SONIC) but Growing up playing Meg a Man And having an emotional attachment to the characters (At some point Dr Light and Dr Wily Lived my attic with Gannon...I think until I was like 11 anyway)
That's really the only reason I have such an interest in Mega Man lore 21 of my 28 years have involved me playing Mega Man in someway.
Even Before Original and X Mega Man was 20XX and X was 210X so even before they were reconciled. It appeared they were on the same timeline or could've been anyway.
I forgot where I read that Legends is supposed to be on the timeline but is way way way off in the future.
Goku is just as much a rip-off of Superman as he is a retelling of Journey To The West:
1. He is the last survivor of an exploded planet
2. Oops, there are a few other survivors and they all hate him
3. He has an Earth name and a birth name
4. Whenever he's going to lose, he finds some bullshit way to become even more powerful
5. He's boring as fuck.
Going back to Mega Man. I love the games, don't care about the story. The story is about
as pedantic as they come.
i find gokus story more palatable than supermans. at least in manga form. the cartoons took too long.

Pfft Goku would have trouble against wolverine let alone Superman.
Speaking of Goku, he and Mega Man had the same Voice actor for a while
But getting back to megamandom...
ALSO...
I think Dr Wily and Heihachi Mishima are the same person

Power Battles ending confirms this. Bass isn't even Proto Man to Zero's mega Man

What's to discuss? Robot boy fights other robots, gains their powers to advance. Rinse and repeat as needed.

Yes I am aware of RegalSin...the original Maverick
I agree with Blackout...the stories aren't particularly engaging. I just like how X can jump farther (because more buttons were available on the controller).
Also, I like how the levels in X can be affected by defeating the bosses in a certain order.

The stories get more engaging in the X and Zero series, just sometimes you need to have a forgiving imagination to have them make sense.

yeah, but the things that killed him usually involve a planet being destroyed, whereas some random alien killed superman.
