Are people on Video game forums just natural Assholes?
Neo-Geo.com is full of them.
Destructoid.
HG101 is ok but the attitudes of most people there make me want to reach through my internet and stab them.
Game FAQs (long list of problems there)
and then the ones where the mods are the assholes
Gametrailers
Penny Arcade
Every Wrestling forum I've been on (which is kind of off topic.
Only decent one I've been on is assembler and even then things can get heated.
Anyone else ever notice this or what?
I like it here becuase so far everyone has acted as though my opinion is actually worth something.

They for the most part are assholes. This forum is a nice change of scenery from some of those forums. I like these forums a lot more than most because we don't have people constantly flaming each other over minor things or people trying to constantly 1-up(no pun intended) each other.

It is because a lot of the members are either
a) obsessed fanboys that hate anything not released for a particular console, and nothing said will make them change their minds. Seeing another's point of view is impossible for them and if they can't find a logical response they will resort to flaming.
b) people that have delusions of grandeur and believe themselves to the best or most knowledgeable gamers in existence. They usually use the word "noob" in every other post and are extremely rude when people ask a legitimate question.
c) people who don't know what that hell they want. They are the kind of people that make petitions for game sequels and then do nothing but bitch about the reason the orginal was far superior when they actually get released.
d) blatent trolls.
e) people that passionately argue with the above people and keep the bullshit going.

Assembler and neo-Geo.com have
f) Anal collectors that think Emulation is the great satan and that you should spend $15,000 on that copy of Kizuna Encounter rather than emulating it not realizing the difference between Emulation and the real thing is a few hundred dollars and that even if I buy the rare game the developer of that game doesn't make a cent off it weither I download a rom of it or not.

I post on Destructoid. Most of them are inflicted with what I call a "DO WANT" attitude and should be avoided.
I think that most of the vocal fanboys are just mad that they're only allowed to play one game per year and they will fight to the end to justify whatever's available to them for fear of looking inferior.

It does. I am an admitted Nintendo fanboy. But I try to be fair. Whether or not I succeed is debatable. I have, at times, been overly critical of the XBox, XBox 360, PS3, and PSP. My criticism of the 360, PS3, and PSP has largely abated, though I do often wonder why Sony refuses to just give up on the PSP.
However, I do have a complete and completely unapologetic hatred of all things Halo, and I will never repent.

I have a PSP. If you use it for everything except games, it's rather handy. It's all I have since I had the bad sense to be nice to my sister for once and let her borrow my DS six months ago. That said, I can count on one hand or two the number of games I really enjoyed on it.
I imagine that every smartphone out there has it beat when it comes to internet browsing and media, though.

I am a Nintendo fanboy. I do in fact own a PS2, but I never play Guitar Hero anymore, I got rid of GTA: San Andreas, so it's kinda been reduced to a DVD player. I kinda feel like a douche for it though.

I love my psp, only issue is that I might have to get another one since some ass-hole knocked it off my PS3 while I was synching it with AC2, now the lens won't read any games... anyways Yay for thread De-Railment!

i have a PSP 1k too. i bought it off a friend of a friend for $100 and several games. i only got it cause it was a cheap deal & cause of god of war.
now that i beat god of war, i hardly ever use it. my nephew uses it every once in a while for internet access

I want half minute Hero and Little Big Planet OH and Lunar before it gets crazy expensive like every version of it does. Oh and the remake of Persona
Thing is though I'd rather spend my gaming money on 360 games.

I can honestly say that I'm just not a fan of any of the systems out these days. My DS gets the most use only because of Zelda, Mega Man, and Castlevania games that are released on it, along with the occasional port of a game that's now conveniently travel friendly (i.e. Chrono Trigger, Resident Evil).
