I can't wait to get this!
And also...Sunshine > Galaxy > 64....yeah I fucking said it!
Mario 64 was such a joke as far as difficulty. I beat that game in 3 days.
Also, Yoshi has been rideable in every Mario adventure game since World except 64, Galaxy and the Paper Mario games.
One more thing I should add about Galaxy 2...IT BETTER NOT HAVE ANY MORE FUCKING BALL ROLLING. THAT WAS BULLSHIT!

I actually prefer the old trailer to this one. It really doesn't look all THAT new, but it really doesn't matter to me what you consider new or not, I just want another Mario platformer....just no ball rolling.
Also, I hope to GOD they use Tatanga instead of Boswer. We got Bowser last time, and Tatanga makes sense because he's an alien.

I rather enjoyed those levels as the controls are very responsive and accurate.
One just needs to employ a delicate touch.

The last ball level took me no less than 50 tries to complete. The rest of the game was a CAKEWALK compared to that. Maybe it's just me, but I really hate motion controls like that.

Does Yoshi's new 3D tongue action remind anyone else of Chamleon Twist, or am I the only one who actually played that game?

For some reason I always tend to mix up Chameleon Twist with Iggy's Wreckin' Balls.

I am looking forward to this game. I hope that usage of Yoshi is limited and not required for the majority of the game. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against his inclusion, I just hope that the game play isn't dependent on a mount.

I don't want to HAVE to use Yoshi either. Did you NEED Yoshi to beat Super Mario World? Nope, but he helped you get to places you couldn't get before. They should stay true to that formula.

For some reason the water slide level took me and a friend like 2 hours to finish it could have theoretically gone forever since we grabbed 1ups before we fell.

I don't really enjoy the mechanic, but beyond that I happen to think that Yoshi is designed to bring some cute cuddly pal to the table and I'm just not interested in a egg shitting portable trampoline.

Yeah, Yoshi stopped being REALLY cool around the time that Yoshi Story came out.

I hated the sound effect when they jumped in Yoshi Story, sounded like they were constipated.

Okay, I just watched that entire trailer with my mouth open, I'm surprised I wasn't drooling by the end.
DO DO DO WANT.
But I'm sorry, JUNE to AUGUST release for Australia?
Fuck you Nintendo!

So I received Mario Galaxy 2 as a gift for my birthday.
Yoshi on the second fucking level? Seriously? Bleh... The mechanic is exactly what I was hoping it wouldn't be... jump on a dinosaur and then jump off it. Eat shit and shit that shit out. I might see how far I can go without using the retarded green poopy monster.
I only got through two stars so far, so I am hopeful that Yoshi is only going to be a pain optionally for a few select levels.

I thought they did a great job with Yoshi in SMG2. They even have those apples to eat like in SMW. Also, I thought the Yoshi power-ups were fairly well implemented.

Yeah, I'll agree that overall Yoshi was implemented very well, and you'll see him in about one or two galaxies per world, so he's certainly not everywhere. However, I will admit that I hated the Dash Pepper, not necessarily because of Yoshi, but because the camera keeps making subtle adjustments, and when you're going that fast, you can be thrown off course.

Oh, agreed.
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the Light Yoshi levels though.

Well, I picked this up yesterday and I can happily say that I am not disappointed. I loved the original SMG, and this game (which feels like more like an expansion to that) is everything I hoped it would be.
Very, very well done Nintendo. Also the music is amazing. AMAZING.

Yea the music is fantastic. That is one of the best parts of Nintendo having such deep pockets. Like all their major first party efforts are now mostly, gloriously orchestrated.

I finally beat the last star in this game fifteen minutes ago, and I come away extremely impressed by the overall quality and creativity of it. However, I must say that I found quite a few of the challenges to be a bit on the cheap side of difficult. Especially the last star, man was it hard. It was hard enough getting trough the level itself, but without getting hit? And no checkpoints? No f*cking checkpoints? That was just brutal. Unfortunately I feel that a lot of the star-challenges was like this one, extremely frustrating, which at least for me puts the game below the first galaxy. Still a tremendous game though.
What do you guys think now that the game has been out for a while?
