Barry Burton and Rebecca Chambers confirmed for mercenaries mode in RE5 Gold Edition, along with Josh!

Hey kids! It's the same game you bought last year! Only slightly better!

I could forgive them when they would release it on one console, then release a beefed up version a year later on a different console, but now it's just getting retarded.

He's the guy that sounds like Miss Cleo who shows up periodically throughout the game. He's also the guy so briefs you at the beginning of Mercenaries mode, saying "you gan get yourselfs a NICE bonus!"

It's funny, because since the game first came out, I've said that I'd prefer to play as him in Mercenaries mode than having three Chrises, three Shevas, two Weskers and two Jills.

I'm more excited about playing Rebecca and Barry. Rebecca has been all but forgotten since RE0 came out, and this'll be the first time that Barry has been playable (unless you count RE: Gaiden. I don't.)

You also played as her for a few missions in Umbrella Chronicles, covering both RE 0 and her role in RE 1.

Is that game any good? I did get a Wii for Christmas and I love the vast majority of the games in the series, but I'm skeptical about the rail shooter aspect.

Umbrella Chronicles is decent, if you care about the storyline of the RE series there's some brand new material for clearing the RE 0, 1, and 3 storylines. Darkside is better. due to having improved on Umbrella (no press-the-button-or-die sequences as one example) and rewarding co-op (in Umbrella, your grading was averaged so if your buddy sucks, it drags the score down; in Darkside, it adds both players' grades to figure a total). Though it covers RE 2, CV, and pre-4 material, filling in the gaps about Leon and Krauser's history.

One thing that made me smile is you can get alternate costumes. One of Chris' is his Caucasus uniform from Umbrella Chronicles.

the best way to enjoy UC is to use the zapper control configuration, but not use the actual zapper.

Actually I wouldn't mind playing as Irving, I think it's his voice.

If i already owned the game i wouldn't buy a new version just for those added extras.

Isn't mercenary mode anyway just a bonus game?! Woopdedoo.

Though that doesn't mean i wont pick it up since i don't own resident evil 5. Same goes for Super Street Fighter 4 since i don't own the original either.

I own the original on the 360, so I'll likely just buy the DLC if anything. If I do buy the disk version, I'll buy it for the PS3. I don't think these additions alone justify buying the game fpr full price again. Super Street Fighter 4, on the other hand... Cody and T. Hawk alone are enough for me to buy Street Fighter 4 again.

you don't have to buy a new game if you don't want to. all the extra stuff is buyable as DLC.

and mercenaries mode is so much more than just a bonus game. It's so much fun, especially with the later added versus mode and the fact that it can be played co-op.

Resident Evil was my main game series until RE5. Basically a rehash of RE4 that took forever to come out.

I hope they can take it back in the direction it needs to be and not just as a Survival Horror Gears of War.

Anyone play Lost in Nightmares and Desperate Escape yet? Desperate Escape was ok being just another level but Lost in Nightmares was boring as hell. Nothing to kill except a few of those big guys that weren't fun to kill.
