I tend to avoid the news networks altogether...THANK GOD for the Internet.
My sister has been talking about this guy for a while and I do recognize him from flipping through the channels. I'm not surprised if people think this guy is a whack job, since basically any person in this field is considered by their enemies as a whack job. I always hate the scare tactic these people use by comparing everyone to Hitler or the Anti-Christ. These assholes try to prey on fear or Patriotism, if you don't agree with them...you're with the terrorists.
The political spectrum in the U.S. is so outlandishly split and is in such a dire need for an enema. We're always "promised" things every 4 years, yet shit constantly stabelizes into more shit. And the news networks...fuck the issues...let's talk about where the President was born...or Palin's family, that's much more important than the goddamn America! It's a constant game of "King of the Mountain", let's see if I can seek power for 2/4 years, then run around and not get caught until I'm up for Re-Election.
It's hard not discussing this sort of thing without going into detail about politics, so I'll just leave it where it stands.

Network news has just lost it....
The internet is better, for breaking news but be sure to cross reference lenghty articles with sites like Factcheck.org.

And honestly, I'll takes internet trolls and assholes over the news corresponders any day. At least they don't get paid millions of dollars to be a negative piece of shit.

I've actually completely ceased watching all American TV news, and now only watch BBC. It's kind of interesting to actually see someone interviewing administration officials, military officials, and other horse's mouths instead of asking Bill Krystol if Obama is being a socialist or too much of a socialist for an hour.
So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

i found this pretty amusing:
Quote:
Glenn Beck runs without ads in UK — for four straight days, activists say
An American political advocacy group aimed at empowering black voices in politics announced Tuesday that the British broadcast of Fox News' Glenn Beck show was forced to run without any paid advertisers last week after the last of the program's corporate sponsors bailed.
"With the latest group of defections from Beck's overseas broadcast, Fox News Channel was forced to fill commercial breaks with news headlines and local weather updates from its U.K.-based sister network, Sky News, instead of paid advertisements," the website StopBeck.com announced. The site is a project of ColorOfChange.org.
Beck's broadcast has been beset by advertising woes since the controversial Fox host declared that President Barack Obama was a "racist," a remark that set off a flurry of protests. Critics said that Beck's comment was itself racist.
Beck's 2009 comment included the remark that he believe Obama had "a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture," and "I'm not saying that he doesn't like white people. I'm saying he has a problem,"
"This guy is, I believe, a racist," he added.
In response, advocacy groups have encouraged advertisers to pull their support for Beck's program. Numerous corporate sponsors have issued statements disassociating themselves from the Fox News host.
Among them include Nestle, Allstate and Anheuser-Busch.
"We do not advertise on the Glenn Beck radio or television show," said Cathy Johnson, consumer services manager for Nestle USA, in an email to ColorOfChange.org. "Nestlé USA has family friendly programming guidelines in place that are routinely monitored and enforced. However, we are aware of a recent commercial that aired during the Glenn Beck show. Airing the spot on FOX and this program was an error that has been corrected."
"While we do purchase advertising on Fox News Channel, we did not intentionally purchase commercials in or around the show, 'The Glen [sic] Beck Program,' nor do we sponsor the program," said Jennifer L. Egeland, director of integrated marketing communications for Allstate Insurance Company, in an email to ColorOfChange.org. "You should not expect to see Allstate advertising during this program in the future."
"Our company has not agreed to advertise during the Glenn Beck show," said Johnny Furr, vice president of community affairs for Anheuser-Busch, in an email to ColorOfChange.org. "We purchase advertising on the Fox News Channel for time slots other than this show, and the ad you saw inadvertently ran during that program."
In a release posted at the liberal blog Daily Kos, ColorOfChange.org announced a slew of new companies that had promised not to advertise on the Glenn Beck show.
I know next to jack about politics but what little I catch snippets of his show every now and then because dad leaves the main tv on the news constantly. It seems like he's always attempting to twist things around to suit his arguments. Eh...I could be wrong but he seems like someone who plays on fear and overzealous pride in his little rants and whatnot.

This is a sick, sick man. Look, Fox, MSNBC and even CNN have these clowns for one reason - $$$. Someone said all news is biased, well not BBC. I don't care what you say, they actually cover news stories, unlike Fox who creates them. Jon Stewart called them out for exactly what they are:

Glen Beck = Nutso. In comparison though, you could watch Ed Schultz and get the same crazy one sided misinformation just from the other party (Dems). I would just say do not watch biased news because its not news, its news created for ratings. That is why when you ask many Republicans or Democrats why they believe in the things they do, most of them do not know. They just like to repeat the opinions they see from FOX or MSNBC. Try watching BBC America or reading a paper.
All news is biased to a degree. What matters is are you agreeing with the people you see because you understand the true nature of an issue, or do you just agree with what you feel you're expected to?
This 2x. All forms of news media has some form of bias. Wether noticable or not, it's there. I think the worst thing for any media outlet to have is an agenda, where all they have is tunnel vision on one subject or group of people. This can be said for Beck.
My personal opinion on Beck is this: socially and politcally, he doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about. I mean my god...."He has a deep seated hatred for white people and white culture...." and then he says "I'm not saying he hates white people..."....
... DO YOU KNOW HOW FUCKIN' STUPID YOU SOUND?
I mean my god, at least try not to contradict yourself within 30 seconds guy? Jesus H. Buddha in haven. But one of the major things I just shake my head at, is the fact, he has the audacity to say how much he can't stand the 9/11 victims families and whatnot; and yet when he was on CNN this asshole would bring up his mother's unfournate suicide and expect his viewers to have pity on him. Newsflash Beck, yes it's very unfortunate that your mother killed herself when your 12, that really fucking sucks to have that happened. But hey beck, these people lost family members too early and whatnot as well. You're not the only one in this world who get's to have pity.
The 9/12 project in reality was just a jerk-off. In my opinion Nothing got accomplished. I didn't get that "sense of American pride that we felt on the 9/12/01" (that I actually wanted to feel..) all you got was a damn TV special and more greenbacks for your pocket. Well....you did assist in the formation of the "Tea party" or whatever the fuck they wanted to be called. So I guess in a sense you did help people become more "politically aware" and strive for personal improvement. Which is a plus, even if I dismiss with majority of the shit they have to say.
Also, the thing with the woman involving pictures....largely inappropriate and very juvenile. Grow up, you're a "journalist" for fuck's sake.
To keep it short: He's Junk food news for the far-right and the politically unaware. Fuck this guy, times 2.

Oh my god. I'd never heard any of his radio show before, but he definitely is a very sick man. Musicians can't say "god damn" on the radio, but he can scream "bitch" at some caller or threaten to kill his callers with a shovel? If there was a true liberal media we'd be able to listen to classic rock uncensored while batshit politicos would be censored.
Really, it took me about five seconds to get this guy's angle. He plays the downtrodden everyman who wants to fight back. He drags the paranoid, trust-all-white-angry-folks-on-TV baby boomers and up crowd into that same category with him, so he can simultaneously gain a prime demo and a way to stroke his ego. What I can't figure out is if he's cynical enough to just be manipulating people, or if he's really just that off his rocker.
So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

I caught some of Beck's show the other day (Fox news is normally a comedy goldmine, so I tune in from time to time). He was arguing that the Constitution was never intended to be a living document. You know, the one that outlines processes for amending itself and already had to have 10 amendments built-in before it even could be ratified. Idiot.
There are some people out there that figured out that they could make a living making "bold" statements.
Some of these guys were extremely lame at one time

i guess glenn beck is a nutjob:
Quote:
Fox News' new shining star, Glenn Beck, has had a long and checkered past. He has battled drug addiction and mental illness and on more than one occasion thought of suicide. John Avlon reports in depth on Beck in The Daily Beast.
"Avatar" director James Cameron lashed out at Glenn Beck at a news conference Tuesday, offering to debate the Fox News personality on environmental and political issues.
Asked what he thought about Beck during a junket appearance in support of the "Avatar" home video release, Cameron said: "Glenn Beck is a fucking asshole. I've met him. He called me the anti-Christ, and not about 'Avatar.' He hadn't even seen 'Avatar' yet. I don't know if he has seen it."
