So, I played Castlevania and dug it, but I could never get past death. I also played Castlevania II, probably first, and didn't like it. Thoser were when I was mid-teens, max.

Then today I decided to give Castlevania IV a go, and it's neato. I got stuck on the spinning room, though, and I kind of have an idea what to do there, but if it's right, then it's a dumb level. But yeah, it's a good game, and I should've played it sooner. ALSO, my first attempt at Stage III ever:

<Drew_Linky> Well, I've eaten vegetables all of once in my life.

Man, I love Castlevania IV. I think it's my favorite SNES game, and definitely in top 3 of all time for me.

I've got this on my VC and it really feels like the definitive Castlevania game for the old generation

The best control in the entire Castlevania series to be quite honest.

Super Castlevania IV is an excellent game. Some of the bosses later on drove me nuts, through - they have patterns and all, but if I remember right Simon can't take many hits before he craps out.

I think the current days of hiding behind a wall to magically recover health has spoiled me.

The problem was that Simon was so damn slow, and his sprite was so big on the screen that there really wasn't any way to avoid the bosses.

Try watching Until We Win

The music guys, oh man the music.

It's not rape if you rape everyone who accuses you.

Cool video, RobotGumshoe. Never knew about that secret power-up zone right before you fight Dracula, among some other stuff.

I've been trying to buy this for my SNES. I usually can't find copies of it and when i do they are extortionate.

But yeah seriously though, having another person on the forum with Q as the avatar is weirding me out. Its like an inadvertent sockpuppet.

I thought that your avatar wasn't Q? But yeah, it would be like someone having a Zechs Merquise avatar for me. Totally awkward.

I'm pretty sure RobotGumshoe's avatar is Robot Detective K, the main character from a '70s Japanese television show. My avatar is Street Fighter III 3rd Strike's Q who was most likely influenced by Robot Detective K; in Q's ending something along the lines of "Robodeka Q" is seen on a wall.

Before I joined these forums I had lurked around a bit beforehand, so seeing RobotGumshoe's choice of avatar/signature was definitely humorous. I had been using Q as my own avatar elsewhere for some time anyways, but RobotGumshoe, if you want me to change it to something else I don't mind. Perhaps two fashionable robocops is too much for one forum.

Anyways, seriously, I need to replay this game and relive all the joys and frustrations. And the music really does match the tone of the game.

I don't even like Milliardo, but it had to be done.
