Happy Valentine's Day! Anyone have any plans?

My lady friend and I think it's a really dumb holiday, but I like dates on the calendar like that, so we went dancing yesterday.

<Drew_Linky> Well, I've eaten vegetables all of once in my life.

conflicting schedules for me and mine, so tomorrow shall be a make up day. Still trying to convince her it's really just happy Hallmark Day, and that every day should be special if two people care about each other, but meh... Confused

I had a candle-light dinner via Skype.

Fuck Valentines. I prefer Valentin Dmitrovich Zukovsky, the recurring character from the Pierce Brosnan Bond movies.

Fun Fact: a deleted scene from The World Is Not Enough shows Valentin surviving his wounds.

He was a pretty cool character. I really liked how they used him in two of the Brosnan movies. I always said to myself that he survived the ending to The World Is Not Enough.

He only got shot, in movie lingo, if Rob Schnieder can survive getting blown to pieces, Zukovsky can survive getting a few slugs

We went to a funeral for one of my gf's coworkers on Valentine's Day, so I was lucky and got out of VDay.

My grandmother died on Valentine's Day, so it's not exactly the happiest day of the year for me.

This is the time of the year when all the single friends I have whine and bitch about how they don't have anyone to spend Valentine's Day with. To which I point out that I love my wife dearly, and I try to do Valentine's wonderfully for her, but at the same time, she expects me to outdo the previous year and that starts making an impact on my wallet.

So yeah, single people, you may not have someone to spend that day with, but your finances are probably happier than my wallet is.

Not only is that not right, that's not even wrong. It's a meaningless statement. Saying something is "one molecule away" from plastic is like saying a farm is one letter away from a fart. Water is "one molecule away" from being explosive hydrogen gas.

I'm glad my girl is practical, and thinks like a guy about a lot of things. Some flowers and dinner are more than enough to please her.

I spent the day at the flea market and managed to score Maiden Japan on vinyl, Duff McKagan's solo album, Skid Row's B-Sides EP, Five Man Acoustical Jam by Tesla, and all five members of the Cantina Band in a commemorative tin. Then we went to the mall and I got two 360 games for $1.97 a piece, a Halo figure for $7, a Judas Priest biography for $5, and a couple PS2 games for cheap. VD was good to me.

The only thing worse than being single on Valentine's Day is being in a relationship on Valentine's Day.
