Rock of the Dead is coming out for the Wii in late spring early summer. The link to the article is here. It looks pretty damn fun. Basically it's Typing of the Dead, but you use the Guitar Hero controller to kill the zombies coming at you. It's a budget title, so it'll only be $30-$40. It's cheesy, and has Neil Patrick Harris voicing the main character. Definately a game I'll be picking up when it comes out. If I put in even half the time I put in on Typing of the Dead it'll be well worth it.

This actually looks really cool. So cheesy that I love it.

I can't believe this is the first company to release a game to use one of millions of guitar controllers that Americans already own in a game that is not explicitly music driven.

Get concept, I will definitely stay posted on this.

This looks awesome. Aside from 'No More Heroes 2', this is the first Wii game to intrest me in months.

Keeping Zombies from eating my brains would definitely urge me to master those clunky Fischer Price Guitars better than the payoff of hearing a song I already know played back.

Jackson had songs in GH/Rock Band. It's doable.

Also, DO WANT.

The sound track should actually be pretty good

The team commissioned bands to create "rock" versions of classical music (Public domain, anyone?) and they sound pretty good as a backdrop to the action. According to Epicenter, the team is looking into licensing Rob Zombie/White Zombie tracks for appropriate parts of the action.

I've always liked classical music updated to the rock genre, usually pretty damn catchy. And I have nothing against Rob Zombie or White Zombie.

Really how much could it cost to get some old 80s B metal songs on there. I.E. King Diamond, Helloween, Manowar and such. Make the game loosely based on Night of The Living Dead, sprinkle in some Doogie Howser and Bam! Instant Classic. Why am I not designing video games?

I'm all for this. Somehow I think Run to the Hills would be a fitting song for an outdoors setting.

So this was announced as a Wii exclusive in February.
By April, it was being said that it would come out on the 360 and PS3 as well.
By June, it was announced that PS3/360 version would feature additional content in the form of Rob Zombie songs, drum support, and a Rob Zombie boss battle.
By August, the Wii version was cancelled.

So this came out on the 360/PS3 on October 21. But Wii owners, take heart: the game is apparently completely fucking terrible. Both the PS3 and 360 versions hold 50% ratings on the composite critic site GameRankings. So thank you, Bryan Jury and Epicenter Studios, for deciding not to bring your shitty, shitty game to the Wii. That's $40 extra in my pocket.
