He's literally been raised within the battlefield inside your game console."

I'm happy that Ameterasu made the list but that thing seems riddled with Final Fantasy characters. I feel especially sorry for Kirby, being rated lower then Sora must be tough.

Mario may be in a lot of games, but he doesn't really have a "character." In terms of straight coolness, nobody holds a candle to Snake in my book.

Link should've won for me...he screws up far less than Snake.

Don't get me wrong...I love Snake, but you're always essentially set up for failure everytime they want you to rescue someone.

Snake is deep, flawed...yet stupid.

I don't know, all I do know is that they are cooler and more badass than both Ryu from Street Fighter and Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden. Laughing

Where's Tommy Vercetti (GTA: VC) or Duke Nukem', or lot's of other good American choices?

Of course, if say Game Informer or IGN or somebody did a list, Master Chief would probably win. (I have no idea why.)

I never understood the fascination with Master Chief. I've played Halo 1 and half of Halo 2. He barely says anything. I have to assume that his popularity just comes from the fact that he's Halo's main character. You could probably replace Master Chief with a machine-gun wielding dildo and said dildo would have a huge fanbase.

I hate Halo also. I played the original, some of Halo 2 and beat Halo 3 but the only decent hing in those games was the multiplayer and that was only because everyone was playing it so you were guaranteed to find a game to get into.

As soon as Modern Warfare came out in 2007 I never played Halo 3 again.

I know what your saying, he was alright in MGS2, I don't vehemently hate him as others do since he plays exactly like Snake.

You have to admit though, his MGS4 incarnation is far superior to that of MGS2.

I have played MGS4 and well frankly I do think he "redeemed" most of his girly antics in the second game, but he still acted more emo-ish then badass. Although the Vamp fights were great, his whole personal struggle with Rose was just to much.

I think what will always remain in my head with Raiden from MGS2 was him running around bare-ass fucking naked along with the wierd japanese girl in the Jejenum of Arsenal Gear.

Are you implying the fact that Vice City was devoloped by Rockstar North, based out of Scotland? I just gave a quality example of a non-japanese character created by an American OWNED company. All Rockstars divisions are headed by the main office in NYC.
