I think the most profound and shocking video I remember was "Jeremy" by Pearl Jam. It came out in 1991, when I was just entering my teens. I think that I, and many people my age could relate with the meaning of the video, and of the anger, rage, fear, and drepression that a teenager goes through. When you are that age, life seems to be a constant uphill battle, you are maturing and your natural instincts are to try to seek independence, and a sense of self. While at the same time, you are still but a child, and are not ready for the freedom you so crave. You don't truly understand this, until you grow older, and go out on your own in world. Then once you are an adult, you realize that independence must become ballanced with the responsibilities of being an adult.
You think life is so hard as a teen, but then once you grow up, you realize that it was a walk in the park compared to living life out on your own.
