It brings me joy to see a cat squint it's eyes and look at me lovingly while purring after I feed it. Then I feed my dog and the snarling bastard is never appreciative, he just eats, sleeps and shits. Anyways, the ugly fuck ate his breakfast this morning and ran outside and slid like 15 feet on the ice and crashed into a pile of snow. Fucking hardcore hilarious.

Are you sure you don't have the two animals confused? In my experience, dogs are the ones who appreciate any shred of affection you show them. Cats are the snooty bastards who only want your attention when it's time for you to feed them.

Depends on the kind of dog. My German Shepherd is awesome and affectionate. My beagle is a giant unappreciative douche ball. I still love him, but I love seeing him bust his ass in a snow bank more.

My friend's dog and cats are the same way. 2 cats are very friendly and the dog does nothing but just sit around at the front door and bark at people. It's not a mean dog, but it's just incredibly useless.
