hell, they wouldn't even need to sell it for the full price of 50-60 dollars... Five bucks a pop and there wouldn't be any copy left on the shelf and all their money in this horrible sham will be made up...

That trailer doesn't look current. I would say that was from about 3-4 years ago.
Reason #1 = The textures look like Doom 3 quality.
Reason #2 = At the logo screen it say PC-CD ROM. There's no way DNF would be less than 700MB, when most FPS shooters come in at 8 - 12 GB nowadays.

Which is why most normal people don't play PC shooters, it's too goddamn expensive.
Anyways, that trailer is most likely not genuine and looks more like a MOD for Doom 3 or something along those lines.

Yeah, the graphics may not be the greatest but I'm happy. That means my PC will be able to play it and people who don't own top end expensive PCs will be able to also. Besides, it looks like it could be really fun, which is all that really matters.

Doom 3 had great atmosphere, it may not have been the bloody monster slay a thon that the original was but it sure sucked me in and kept me playing until the end.

3D Realms was only okay with the modern FPS formula, so handing it to another developer is a smart move. This way it'll actually get done.

I agree with this. Don't think of DNF graphically, think of it as "holy shit a new Duke Nukem game! Duke Nukem freaking rocks!"

In regards to the graphics, I see the game is also being worked on by Gearbox.
Gearbox was behind Borderlands and as a result I can see alot of that game in this, gameplay wise as well as graphically (even atmospherically to a degree).
This is not a bad thing, Borderlands was one of the most fun games I have played in recent years.
In this new Duke, the graphics are not necessarily cel-shaded or anything quite like that, but I feel like they may be going for a more stylized approach as opposed to overt realism.
Once again, this is not a bad thing at all, in fact I feel it suits the Duke style well.

I'm not so sure about that..
When Chinese Democracy was being released i thought that it would have sold millions upon millions to the legacy it had having been unreleased for 13 years.
With all the joking of how it was never going to be released you think it would have sold reasonably well but it was way under par on what was expected.
So with Duke it may be the same thing. Based on that footage (if it's real) i am definitely gonna pick it up.

Well, in regards to Chinese Democracy, music is very easy to pirate. On top of that, Axl put the entire album up for free on MySpace the day before the album's official release. Also, there was no marketing push, tour, or music videos to support it. The albums sales relied entirely on word of mouth and music media outlets shouting "OMG! Chinese Democracy is out!".
