From the INQ:

INSECURITY OUTFIT McAfee has named the US as the most likely source of cyber attacks, beating out the widely perceived favorites China and Russia.

McAfee conducted a study that questioned 600 IT and security executives from various countries to discuss, rate and rank their biggest Internet security concerns. Most of the report just states the bleedin' obvious, except for the finding that the Americans are the most feared by the others.

With the recent scuffles between Google and the Chinese government it comes as no surprise that almost 75 per cent of respondents believed that the Chinese government was involved in cyber attacks against their country. However, the figures for both the US and Russia were identical at 60 per cent. The UK government came in third from last with only 50 per cent or so believing that it was involved in naughty cyber aggression activities.

Probably the most startling discovery was that it is the US, not China or Russia, that is feared the most. The majority of countries in the West listed the US ahead of China and Russia as the country "of most concern" when it came to attacks. McAfee reports that 36 per cent of all respondants said that the US represented their "greatest concern" to networks in their country and sector. The US edged out pre-report favorite China by three percentage points and Russia by an impressive 24 percentage points. Again the UK barely failed to register, clocking up less than six per cent of responses.

Typically these insecurity vendor sponsored security reports cultivate an image of doom and gloom and this was no different, with quotes such as "the sitution will get worse not better in the future". This would seem to lead one to question whether McAfee's products are effective at doing their job.

That fact that Macafee is the one who conducted this study says a lot.
There antivirus program is a load of shit. My school uses it and my dad installed it on my moms computer. Well guess what, my moms computers fucked (blue screen error) and my schools computers are constantly getting those rouge antivirus programs.
I've fixed my friends computer, my old laptop (that had macafee on it -_-), my mothers, and my grandparents computer that had rouge antivirus programms. All of them except for my friends had macafee on it and my moms died due to viruses macashit can't pick up.

That's why I love malwarebytes. It runs great and it picks up all the viruses when it's run.

I only wish i had the full version of macafee on my moms computer because then i'm confident its protection mode would have picked it up

"Rouge" is french for red.

And yes, McAfee sucks. I think the free version doesn't do anything (just scanning without removing malware is fucking useless) and just takes a lot of system ressource,
while the full version... well I don't know if the programmers at school actually bothered to register it, but McAfee rarely blocked anything, so their computers were often full of viruses.

That is a lie. You see.

People are allowed to use vriuses for advertisments.
The ISDA, FCC, FBI, DEA and other places attacks to defends.
McaFee is from the USA.
Internet is more free in the USA.
I say that it is a good thing.
