Sorry for the delay, spent a good portion of yesterday playing it. I won't be an thorough as knyte but suffice to say the game is awesome. The combat system is top noch. ITs awesome to be able to create a crowd control manuver, execute it, and then have your guys switch to another target to kill it while everyone else is stunned. I started the mage origin and then played the Human warrior one. My one complaint is that once you choose abilties the points you invest in them cannot be returned to invest in somerthing else. In other wards your sort of stuck with what you choose as the beginning as far as a "spec" is concerned. Story is great so far, NPC's have amazing interactions. The "300-esque" blood splatter is very fun. Would highly reccomend this!

In a way, each of us has an El Guapo to face. For some, shyness might be their El Guapo. For others, a lack of education might be their El Guapo. For us, El Guapo is a big, dangerous man who wants to kill us. But as sure as my name is Lucky Day, the people of Santa Poco can conquer their own personal El Guapo, who also happens to be *the actual* El Guapo!

I am getting tired of the blood splatters, personally. I mean you're on the road and get into a fight with bandits, sure, you'll get bloody. But, you would probably clean yourself off before you got to town, don't you think?

I mean, I run into "toll collectors" who are looking at my party and saying that we dont look very tough, are are probably easy pickings. Then the camera cuts to us, and we are drench from head to toe in other people's blood. Do the bandits think that it's our blood? Or are they color blind, and assume were covered in green paint splatters because we've been painting fences?

i read several reviews, and the PC version is better than the console version (big surprise /sarcasm) but i was wondering what specs i would need in order to run the game comfortably well. my computer is not that great, so im debating whether to just wait until i get a new comp or just give it a shot

Minimum System Requirements
OS: Windows XP SP3/Vista SP1
Processor: Intel Core 2 DUO @ 1.4 GHz/AMD Athlon64 X2 @ 1.8 GHz
Memory: 1 GB
Hard Drive: 20 GB Free
Video Memory: 128 MB (nVidia GeForce 6600/ATI Radeon X850)
Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
DirectX: 9.0c
Keyboard & Mouse
DVD Rom Drive

Recommended System Requirements
OS: Windows XP SP3/Vista SP1
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (2.4 GHz)/AMD Phenom II X3 720 (2.8 GHz)
Memory: 2 GB
Hard Drive: 20 GB Free
Video Memory: 512 MB (nVidia GeForce 8800 GTS/ATI Radeon HD 3850)
Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
DirectX: 10
Keyboard & Mouse
DVD Rom Drive

The only thing that makes no sense in the System Requirements is 8800GTS / HD 3850. The 8800GTS absolutely stomps the HD3850, and they are not even in the same league.

I am running it with:

OS: Windows 7
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (OC'd to 3.2GHz)
Memory: 8 GB
Video Memory: 512 MB nVidia GeForce 9800 GT (I don't think there is SLI support yet.)
Sound Card: Onboard

I can run it 1280x1024, Max settings, and get 50+ FPS.

I have run it in 1080p resolution, have a e8400 dual core not overclocked, 4 gigs of memory and a 512mb 4870 ati graphics card, Runs perfect in high resolution with x8 AA on. Game looks great. The load times get a little long and there is a tiny bit of stuttering if I turn textures up to very high but thats because I should really have more graphics memory than I do for the resolution I play in. I think its actually a pretty low demand game considering its brand spanking new.

Damn... I have been seeing commercials for it, and now I really want it.

If I get it, it will be a Steam download, but my guess is that I will be waiting a few months because my primary machine doesn't have the juice to run it.

I love these kind of games, and I'm going to try to get this for Christmas.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but is this a "classical" style RPG or an open-ended "Oblivion-like" RPG?

Classical style. There is the usual Bioware open endedness, though. Which is that you have multiple tasks to accomplish, and can choose which order to do them in, much like KOTOR & Mass Effect.

I've finally gotten into playing this game, so I thought I'd post a few thoughts. PLEASE NO SPOILERS!!!

Stuff I like:

--I love the rich lore of the game. A deep storyline, particularly one that extends beyond the scope of the gameplay itself always makes for a better game. You feel like you're just playing a small role in a universe that's bigger than you are.
--The combat is quite fun, and I enjoy setting up my tactics and rearranging them on the fly
--Great voice acting
--Good variety in weapons/armor and combat style choices

Stuff I don't like (or at least am still getting used to):

--It doesn't seem like level grinding is meant to be a big part of this game. Some people might like that, but I usually enjoy the process of strengthening my characters through grinding.
--This goes along with the above point, but I have found that I seem to be under-leveled for where I'm at in the game. I've reached an impasse where I keep getting my ass kicked, and I believe it's because my characters simply aren't strong enough. I've come to realize that you really NEED to do the side-quests in order to level up
--The tactics system isn't flawless. My characters don't always do what they're supposed to be doing.
--There isn't really a "world map" as in most RPG's. You just kind of select a location you want to go to and you're sent there. Sometimes a random encounter is triggered, sometimes not.

So while it looks like I've posted more negatives than positives, that's not really a true assessment of how I feel about the game. I am enjoying it very much. It's just not exactly what I was expecting in some ways. I think I'll come to accept some of these negatives as I progress, and they won't bother me anymore.
