This comes out Friday, and it looks pretty good. I don't read movie reviews before I see the movie because that is dumb, it gives you expectations or anti-expectations for that matter, so after I watch it I'll give my opinion of it. It looks like the normal science fiction, angels and demons things go boom kind of movie, which is fine by me. Any thoughts, forumers?

I'm quite looking forward to this because a) concept is awesome and b) Paul Bettany is ALSO awesome, not to mention quite good looking. That combo alone has bought my ten bucks. Should be seeing it sometime this week.

There's about ten things coming out soon or already out that I really want to see. This is not one of them.
I hate to agree with a certain video douchebag, but the granny bit was indeed stupid.
The concept is good however, but it's just not enough to make me go to theaters.
I know they're not going for the conventional views of angels, but the fact that they look like the offspring of a vampire and a harpy throws me off quite a bit.

This is the one point the film has me a bit dubious on (that, I don't understand how or why the fuck angels need to possess people), but I'm hoping that there's some sort of explanation in the movie--however thin it may be--that will make it work. Also, they need to explain why a frigging Archangel needs to carry a machine gun. (Although if he's a fallen angel, maybe he's lost his power...?)
Okay, I'm way overthinking this now. I just hope the movie is fun.

The CGI looks fairly cartoonish, which puts me off.
Also, I'm unclear on the plot. God sends angels to exterminate humanity, including a woman who is carrying His unborn son, who according to Christian beliefs is also a direct incarnation of God Himself. But if the rogue angel Michael can protect Jesus until he's born, then God will suddenly call off His attack? How does that make any fucking sense?
Also, the film shows a complete lack of understanding of the Biblical God. Okay, I understand that God's supposed to be going back to His cranky, wrathful Old Testament ways. But there is absolutely no precedent for complete extermination of humanity. God has always had chosen people who He has spared. For example, Noah and his wife.
Of course, there's probably something else going on here. Since modern film writers are moronic hacks who think they're way more clever than they are, the film's title is probably a not-so-subtle reference to what's REALLY going on here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legion_(demon)>

Is it impossible to enjoy a movie because of religious beliefs or that the story isn't believeable enough? It's angels with machine guns dude, take it for what it is. It's one of those "watch while intoxicated or while playing a drinking game " kind of movies and nothing more. Also, this movie could never be as good as "The Prophecy" and that's certainly saying something.

[sarcasm]Just exactly as Transformers was ALL about robots fighting each other and NOT human douchebags being douchebags, amirite!?[/sarcasm]
All I'm saying is this is one of those movies with a potential premise with the risk that they did it wrong.
I didn't see Transformers, and I'm spiritually and mentally richer for it.

You smart, lucky bastard.
As for the movie, I pretty much share your philosophy. I think its gonna be a fun ride, and I'm curious to see exactly how the premise plays out.

transformers was amazing for what it was. I refuse to believe that anybody here who is talking shit about the movies have actually watched a single episode of the original cartoon.
oh and I think legion will suck for pretty much the same reasons that syd already posted.

i said the same thing when i saw the trailer. but what i thought i realized was that god was destroying the earth again by exterminating the human race you know like the flood or something. but i might have this confused with the nostra "Dumbass" err i mean nostradamus 2012 special they had on history channel on demand

Come back in 5 years and let's see if your opinion remains the same.
No, G1 is pretty damn terrible; animation errors, retarded plotlines, Daniel.
Really the best Transformers series is Beast Wars, but now the CGI is looking a little long in tooth...
Bay's movies are abominations, but they're certainly not alone in the ranks of fucking terrible Transformers media. Just look at Kiss Players...

yeah, but you're talking about a society that allows buying girl's underwear out of vending machines. I would expect nothing less. Throw the girl out and keep the robot, amirite?

Absolutely, it's the Japanese. I found the Binaltech line to be a bit clunky personally, but they definitely look awesome just posing around.
