So is anyone here as geeky as I am?
I read (and for the *most* part) enjoy "Star Wars" EU novels. They're not great literature by ANY means, but they're entertaining.
The basic ones that everyone with an interest in "SW" should read are Timothy Zahn's "Heir To The Empire" trilogy and some of the "New Jedi Order" stuff.
Soo.... anyone talking? The reading board is dead.

I've been procrastinating on checking out the Star Wars books. I don't want to read any about characters from the films, though (minus Boba Fett). That's just lame.

I really hate Luke Skywalker, I hate his shitty, whiny character, and his shitty acting. Fuck him. Thank God for Han Solo.

I'm a nerd. I went off and read the Thrawn (Heir to the Empire) Trilogy, one or two of the books from the X-Wing series, Darksaber, and....something else. This was all like forever ago; I haven't picked up a Star Wars book in about 6 or 7 years.
I meant to read the Dark Empire series, but just never got around to it.

I used to be a wicked post ROTJ EU nerd but gave up Star Wars for awhile until really, Revenge of the Sith kickstarted my interest again. But it's not like I was before, back then I read just about every book I could get (even if they were bad, which happens.) Now I'm just sorta limited to prequel era EU iun the form of the Clone Wars cartoon, video games and a few other sources. Current post ROTJ EU is kind of a daunting task to take up again, it seems I've missed a lot. I sorta want to read the books involving the Yuuzhan Vong war since it seems that quite a lot of big changes happened because of it (I've read several entries on Wookipedia about planets devastated by the Vong terraforming, like important planets.) And there's all that jazz about Darth Krayyt and the new empire and whatnot and friggin' Luke's grandchildren? Last I read, the Solo kids were like 10 years old at best and Mara was trying to kill Luke, not marry him.

Yeah, it's actually really informative too. Pretty much anything you wanna know about Star Wars is in there.

I've read almost every EU book, except for the new Dark Nest series. I can't find any.
Also, they wouldn't fight. They both inspire togetherness, so they would combine together into a Wiiki, a game console that could tell you all of the meaningless information in the world!

I liked a lot of the the books, they weren't anything special but still fun to read. I was severly dissapointed with Shadows of the Empire though, holy shit that book is so horribly written, I had to put it down sometimes because it was like listening to a 8 year old tell a story.
I was really digging the New Jedi Knight stuff. When they introduced the Yuuzhan Vong, those books were a lot of fun. It seems like it gave the writers a lot more to work with, and also finally brought about what seemed like the possible destruction of the New Republic. You're reading those books and thinking "why again was the empire so hard to defeat?"
