The title says it all, I was bored and just perusing some various console mods on the interwebz and decided to create a topic here where we can compare and contrast what we think may or may not be badass.

I will start with a few I found on Youtube, two Wiis and one NES, IMO they are very well done and I DO WANT!!

This reminds me I need to get back to my modding again, I used to do the same types of mods for people all the time.

Love the Metroid Wii. I'm surprised Nintendo didn't think of extending the Wii's base like that other one to house wiimotes.

If you can't tell, not only is this windowed, but they also modded the system with internal water cooling.

What's the point of modding a 360 when there's a good chance it's gonna brick on you?

blackout, case mods have a very little chance of bricking your system. Unless you go extreme like the x-box 360 laptop thing and the one knyte posted about the internal water cooling

hacker, I was referring to the actual hardware brickage that the 360 is so famous for. You know, RROD or Ashtray or etc...

Well the RROD is an overheating issue right? So wouldn't the water cooling prevent that?

Watercooling was an after market way to protect the earlier X360s from RRODs.

Hell, Over heating was such an issue that high end PC case makers were cashing in on it.

Behold the Lan Li Xbox 360 case:

Wii Ghostbusters Mod

It may not be your own, it may not be your friend's or neighbor's, but somewhere in the world at this very moment a Wii Zapper is shedding a single tear. For it has observed the Ghostbusters-themed Wii proton pack mod-case above, and knows it is so far superior that all Zappers might as well kill themselves in response.
This mod showed up on the Ghostbusters Fan forums (via Engadget), presumably made by image poster "irrelevanttomfoolery." As you can see in the second picture below, it does indeed come with the full proton pack to strap on, and evidently "the Blue Power Cell actually shows you how much power the pack has."

Truly, there cannot be a person alive who grew up in the '80s, remembers no other toy with more fondness than their plastic life-size proton pack with the crappy yellow water noodle that stood for the energy stream, and doesn't have their heart filled with joy when they see this beautiful piece of plastic construction. The tragedy, really, is this thing isn't being mass-produced for sale.

Modding isn't just restricted to the outside. For example I have the greatest DS ever (DS lite actually)

I have it with a translucent red shell, a ram/rumble pack so it can play gba roms a kernel modded r4i with a 32 GB micro SD card with 275 ds games on it, 12 neogeo, 43 sega genesis, 322 nes, 153 snes, 38 game boy and game boy color, 74 gba, and one PC version N game (with a modded flash player for the DS). I don't even play other consoles anymore. Also my DS lite has an upgraded battery with 50% more juice (which I need because the r4i sucks up battery power a little bit more. can anyone can beat that?

I must admit, the extended battery is very sweet. How difficult/expensive was that part of the mod?

Somebody should cram the guts of a PS3 into an Apple Bandai Pippin.
