Star Fox Assault blows. Star Fox Adventures is way better.

Yeah but we don't live together, and I'm not a fan of the wii mote motion required to make Link swing his sword.

He means that you can play GCN discs on a Wii, with a GCN controller.
And Adventures was most definitely better than Assault. Both sucked as far as Star Fox games go, but Adventures was a good game.

That I know, but what I meant was I want to get the GC version of Twilight so I can play it with the GC controller, either on my cube or her Wii. The wii mote controls for Link's sword don't jive with me, half the time I always end up doing a slash when I want a stab etc. Maybe I need more practice but meh... I'm a button kind of guy.

that's great and all, but the guy was suggesting that you don't need a GCN if your gf has a Wii, because Wii can play GCN games. No one was suggesting you get the Wii version of TP over the GCN one.

I wanted the Gamecube for my house, maybe one day when I've got some more money I'll snag a Wii of my own, but until then I went with the cheaper alternative.

Yeah, $30 is a pretty sweet deal.
If you like RPGs, Tales of Symphonia is a good buy.

Upon further inspection of my Gamecube collection, (hey, that rhymed!) I forgot to mention:
Custom Robo
Fire Emblem Path of Radiance
Resident Evil 0
Simpsons Road Rage
Simpsons Hit & Run
Mortal Kombat Deception
Sonic Adventure DX
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle
Capcom vs SNK 2 EO
Soul Calibur 2
Metal Gear Solid the Twin Snakes
I also vouch for Tales of Symphonia. Another great RPG is Evolution Worlds.

Hey can anyone confirm the rumors about Majora's Mask being really glitchy on the Cube, cause I'm playing my way through Ocarina of Time and there's nothing wrong with it so far.

This has already been mentioned, but TimeSplitters 2 and TimeSplitters: Future Perfect are excellent games if you're into first person shooters - they were pretty much my gateway into the genre. Both games have basic and sometimes comical story plots and are pretty laid back compared to today's ultra-serious shooters. They also contain single player challenges and basic mapmaker modes, so it'll keep you busy when your friends aren't around.
The Lord of the Rings games were also decent, though they aren't very replayable.

You know, I would start to freak if this new guy turned out to be a pro gamer like Not Sure.

Thanks, folks! Finally registered after lurking around for awhile. And yes, my Q avatar and RobotGumshoe's Robot Detective K avatar will soon usher in a new era...
As far as being a pro gamer, probably not - I've barely played any NES games - but TimeSplitters is just one of those games I really, really like, so when someone mentioned it here I had to ramble about it.

Haha, I mentioned it because like you, I loved it as well. I had so many good memories with the multiplayer.

I have NEVER had MM or OOT freeze on me on the Gamecube. The other problems, if they exist, are barely noticeable.
Also, I don't specifically remember about MM, but OOT has rumble support intact, as it's a semi-important game feature. Apparently the VC version doesn't.

The rumble is intact in MM as well. The glitches are not gamebreakers, but they could be quite annoying. I have had one freeze during my only playtrough, which is not so bad i guess, but the framerate is terrible at times, and even worse is the music when going between certain places. All in all it can be annoying, but the GC version is definitely worth picking up, especially if you, like me, have ruined all your N64 controllers.
