Holy shit, have they been giving you funny looks, or asking you to carry heavy furniture down the stairs?

Weird. That's basically saying "Hey! Hope you die before we do!"

Win: A spankin' new HDTV, Banjo-Kazooie - Nuts & Bolts, plenty of gift cards and $200 cash, and the last Fox Trot collection. Also, the Cul de Sac comic ended up being... not half bad, in the end.
Tiring win: My sister and I disassembled my old TV stand, cleaned and rearranged my room, and dragged up a new tv stand that was surprisingly heavy for its size. We were both sore as hell yesterday, but it was fun, and getting the new TV installed in one day was worth it.
Almost fail: My aunt was sick as a dog on Dec. 23rd, yet decided that it was just something she ate that made her sick, and came up on Dec. 24th anyway. You know, despite it being horribly bad manners and just plain dumb to potentially have the stomach bug virus and bring in into a house with five other people, one of which (my father) is particularly susceptible to getting sick. Reason it's only almost fail is that none of us ended up getting sick, but it was still a not-fun couple of days.

Win: Rockband 5 for Wii, Twilight Princess, Bill Belicheck Hoodie, successfully hosting a party. Giving someone Tiger Woods 2010 and writing "I love whores" in a text bubble on the case. Epic gift opening moment.
Fail: Dealing with bro who gets depressed on xmas...doesn't matter what he gets, he has a complex that everyone else got better stuff and we hate him.

fail: i got a blackberry tour for christmas from a friend. i HATE blackberries. most of my reasons are aesthetic, but i still dont care for them. good thing i can trade it in. unfortunately, all the other phones i saw on the sprint website, i dont care for. it seems the whole world is smartphone happy now. i dont care for smartphones. i've had the same samsung a900 for the past 3 years and its more than enough for me. but it is beginning to show its wear & tear. sigh, i'll probably end up keeping the blackberry.
and its not my fail, but its christmas related:

Inventor spends Christmas with his perfect woman - a £30,000 custom-made fembot
Inventor Le Trung spent Christmas Day with the most important woman in his life - his robot Aiko.
The science genius enjoyed a festive dinner with his mum, dad and his £30,000 fembot which he designed and built by hand.
Le, 34, from Brampton, Ontario, Canada, even bought gifts for his dream girl, who is so lifelike she speaks fluent English and Japanese, helped cook the turkey and hang up decorations.
'Aiko is like any woman, she enjoys getting new clothes,' he said.
'I loved buying them for her too.' |

Not only is that not right, that's not even wrong. It's a meaningless statement. Saying something is "one molecule away" from plastic is like saying a farm is one letter away from a fart. Water is "one molecule away" from being explosive hydrogen gas. |

Win: my girlfriend got me a sweet new wallet, the old one being about 10 years old. Fail: apparently, since i'm a professional, everyone seems to think I need new ties. I, in fact, have all the ties I need. I received 4 ties this year including a really nice silk tie I will be hoping I can return somewhere for cash.

WIN:
Mario Chess. While I haven't played chess in years and have absolutely no desire to restart, this is a nice chess set. At the very least, they're really cool figurines. This was apparently designed by someone with an odd sense of humor. The light/dark queens are Luigi/Bowser Junior. Daisy and Peach are the light bishops.
Transformers, the complete series. Not sure if I really needed this, but it's cool. Very surprised to get it, because I didn't ask for it, and I imagine it's expensive.
Spuda Fett! This is the fourth year in a row that I've gotten a Potato Head. Certainly not complaining though. In previous years I got Stormtrooper, Vader, and Indy.
The DHARMA orientation kit. What can I say? I'm a huge LOST fan. Didn't even know this existed though. I was surprised and happy to get this.
A Darth Vader flash drive. Very neat.
Also got 2 pairs of jeans and several games:
GTA: Chinatown Wars
Brutal Legend
Ghostbusters: The Video Game (360)
Lego Rock Band (Wii)
Zelda: Spirit Tracks
And an XBox 360 wireless adapter!!!
And from Jeebus:
Virtua Tennis 2009 (Wii)
Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars
Medal Of Honor Heroes 2 (Wii)

I have not. I've been sick since 12/23. I've done nothing, except eat, sleep, and force myself to go to work on the days I've had to work.

I've seen that Mario Chess Set and I definitely want it, but the only place to find it around here is, of all places, in the Anime specialty store. I have nothing against anime or it's fans, but this store in particular. It feels like if I walk in, my virginity will retroactively return and stay with me for life.

More likely, you'll be sodomized to death with Yaoi paraphernalia.

I, too, have seen that chess set, in a record store. I wonder how Mega Man would adapt to the medium.

Mega Man would work well.
The Mario one could have been done better.
Bowser's pawns are turtle shells. Not Koopas. Fucking turtle shells. His rooks are Goombas. I think his pawns should be Goombas or Koopas, and his rooks should be Thwomps. His knights are Birdos, also highly questionable. I would have gone with Hammer Brothers.
Mario's side is mostly okay, except his pawns are coins and his rooks are Toads. His pawns should be the Toads. His rooks? I don't know. Starmen? Lakitu, maybe? Lakitu's taken sort of a backseat as a villain. So has Birdo, actually. Maybe Birdo for Mario's rooks?

Here's how I'd do Mega Man, classic series only:
=== LIGHT SIDE ===
King - Dr. Light
Queen - Roll
Bishops - Mega Man & Proto Man
Knights - Beat
Rooks - Rush
Pawns - Eddie/Fliptop
=== DARK SIDE ===
King - Dr. Wily
Queen - Splash Woman
Bishops - Pharaoh Man & Shadow Man
Knights - Knight Man & Metal Man
Rooks - Guts Man & Stone Man
Pawns - Mets

WIN: Spending the holidays with my fiance.
Win: Awesome knife set from the Father-in-Law, a bunch of PS2 games, 2 Rise Against cds, wedding books, Dragonlance book, sneakers, chocolate, ornaments.
Fail: Most of it was picked up on the 26th, due to getting gift cards.
