Dude, I consider Duke Nukem 64 to be completely fucking awesome. Being able to play with three friends at the same time was something I could never do on the computer because Dial-Up was so fucking slow that Duke 3D PC multiplayer was awful (although nowadays it's fantastic.). It also let you play against bots in any of the levels and N64 exclusive levels. I hate seeing people talk bad about something because it's not the one they played first and is only an iota different than the original.

I played the original very briefly before getting the N64 version. The only reason I did is because it was a a summer computer camp and apparently the counselors didn't give a shit about age. My parents sure as fuck did though, to the point that when somebody got me the N64 version for a barmitzvah, my parents took it away. And didn't get it back until 5 years ago because my parents forgot where they hid it.
I would love to play the original, if they made a version for Mac, or if it was even still available. No way in hell am I scowering the internet for shareware or torrents or whatever you damn kids do these days.

I think you can either download it or if not buy it for some chump change over at 3d realms, and I'm pretty sure it's on the Xbox live arcade.

Did you know that there's a Sega Genesis (Mega Drive) Duke Nukem game? It's actually not too bad for a 3d game on the Sega Genesis.

I was really excited for this game. Adding teaser screenshot into the Live version didn't help. I actually thought this game was nearing release.
(EDIT: Were they screenshots,or just concept sketches? I don't really remember)

You can get HI-RES update packs for the PC version that allows you to play DN3D in high resolutions. It looks pretty decent too.
Go here for screenshots and to download it:

Also, there is a new Polymer beta enhancement for the game:

I read the article, it finally made everything about why that game was delayed make sense. Nice find Syd.
Basically they wanted the game to be epic and wouldn't settle for anything else. I can understand that reasoning after playing SOF2(one of my fav FPS ever) then playing SOF Payback which was trash.

According to the article, the game WAS nearly complete, then they ran out of money. So they asked Take Two for $6 million. Take Two offered them 1/3 of that. So they took their ball and went home.

How was the first one? I read so many mixed things on it, I'm not sure what to make of it.

It was decidingly mediocre, gameplay wise. the story, jokes, ect. were all fantastic though, such as that picture that I've posted.

Hm, thanks. I may have to pick it up sometime, since I'm assuming it's going to be pretty damn cheap. Will Arnett and Neil Patrick Harris and probably able to make even the mediocre jokes hilarious.
