After months of emailing and fighting with YouTube, my channel has been returned and the next LP:HL is up!
Hoping to have part 8 up tomorrow. This may or may not happen depending on how things go, but that's my goal.

I had wondered about that. I'm glad your channel is back Hawk. Nice LP by the way.

Well no one wants to watch a straight forward LP with no humor. If you played perfectly it would be boring as hell. Keep doing what your doing. Meaning, fuck up every once in a while.

^ If someone with better photoshop skills than I turns that (or any other image that works, really) into a "that is not a rope! Holy SHIT that was not a rope!" sig, I will so, SO use it and rotate it with my other, army sigs. I'll put it in my blog and on my YT account, too. (With credit, obviously.)

At first, I thought you meant Ash Burton, but then it hit me you probably meant the Ash from Army of Darkness.

Hahaha yes. Although my favorite Marine did (I'm almost certain) take that part of his name from the AoD character.

Oh yeah, I finally got my video up on *#&$& YouTube. It took about seven re-tries and nearly three days, but it finally took. Hope it was worth the effort lol:

Good news! I think I have permanently solved both my video problems with YouTube, and my issues with them taking so long to upload. So here is part 10, and 11 should be up nlt Wednesday night:
Well, the #1 issue I was having was codecs. I finally found that the largest version of the k-lite codec pack had the stuff I needed to get my videos to actually, y'know, play WITH PICTURE.
in terms of upload time, I had been using DV-AVI as my format, which is pretty high quality but HUGE. Out of frustration, I finally tried uploading it in WMM-DVD format (I think that's what it was), and it actually ended up being even better looking that my other videos. I have know idea how or why THAT happened, but as long as it continues to work, I'll be happy. DV-AVIs took around five hours for one upload for me; WMM-DVD takes about half an hour. Much better!

Once again, it was excellent. What program did you say you used to record the videos? I seem to recall you saying, but my computer is running hideously slow I can't reload all the videos.

Oh man sorry I missed your comments here guys! I wasn't ignoring you; for some reason this thread didn't show up as new for me.
Josh: yeah lol. That thing really did scare the bejesus out of me. I was anticipating his attack so much from hearing him that when it finally happened I was already on edge and just about came out of my chair.
Eddie: It's cool. I record with a (legal) version of FRAPS, and I just bought a brand new headset mic--a logitech USB. Both well worth the investment. Make great quality videos.
ALSO, as a Christmas present to everyone (and just because I frigging felt like it) a trailer for a new LP coming in January. I'm rather proud of it, actually:
Also, I FINALLY resolved my capture issues with Mech Commander 2, so I'll be starting a written walkthrough of that...hopefully tonight, as soon as I get my latest HL vid up!

I haven't played this game before so I'm wondering how you shoot a gun without the cursor? Is it auto-aim or something?

Er, which game? If you mean HL, the cursor is absolutely there. It's quite small, but you can see it turn red when you aim at an enemy. Doom 3 has the exact same thing--small and hard to see but turns red when on an enemy.
MC2...I think the cursor is just to light and flickery to show up in the vid, but its there, I promise.
