So I installed Virtual PC and found my old Windows 98 CD and installed Windows 98 on Virtual PC. I don't know why I did it. But Windows 98 was really ugly. I guess it is kind of fun to run it for novelty purposes. I've also got Windows 3.1 installed on Virtual PC as well.

Before you rate Windows 98 was sexy as hell compared to 95 and NT.
It was stable as hell compared to ME and 2000.
Hell, Windows 98 brought us all the way to XP. That is of course if we are talking about Windows 98SE.

I tried to and whenever I use printscreen and try to paste into Photoshop it does not work. I'm looking for ways to get it to work though.
Well I found a way to kind of do it. First I had to share my external drive with Virtual PC. I then took some screenshots and pasted them into Paint and saved them to the external drive. Then I loaded them in Photoshop and saved them as .JPG files.

Aw man... Windows 98 was on my first computer. meeeemories~
I continued to use it up until 2005 because I had a damn-near militaristic hate of XP 'til then.

Windows 3.1 was the first OS I ever used and I personally liked it because it seemed easier for me to get to things that I needed. Once we had 98 on our second computer, I always went through MS-DOS Command Prompt because of my previous experiences.

I remember when all we had was the DOS prompt, and we were GRATEFUL to have that much. What's wrong with 98 though? It's simple and efficient. How much shit do you need on your desktop?

I don't even remember if we used 98. All I can remember from my childhood was playing games on our old school Macintosh.

We were grateful for DOS?
I recall being amazed that we had calculators that fit into the palms of our hands with better interfaces than computers that weighed 50lb sitting on the floor.
I will say, I did enjoy some of my original DOS games, but as an interface, it was a command prompt. I remember using pre-windows OS menu loaders to avoid typing everything. I swear, you would need to be a Linux fan to really enjoy spending your entire day in DOS. Maybe that's what happened to people who liked DOS.

I fucking LOVE Windows 98. I reconfigured XP to look as close to it as possible. I am hestitant to upgrade to Windows 7 because I am worried that they have taken away the customization that lets you make it look like 98.
My sister has Vista installed on her laptop. You want hideous? The basic layout for Vista is fucking hideous. Windows 98 looks much nicer.

I always wondered if you actually never upgraded or just customized the interface.

Somewhat off topic.....but I was in Staples the other day and was shocked to see that a TI-83 Graphing Calculator still costs like $90. From what I can tell, it's the same damn thing I was using in highschool in the late 90's. Hard to believe they still ass-rape you so bad on the price, considering it's over 10 years old.

Doesn't every kid need an iPhone now for homework? Fucking things are powerful enough to do everything a Ti-8x could do and more.

The funniest part is that you don't NEED a graphic calculator. They are totally fucking useless. TI created a product, and then they had textbook writers create a demand for it. You will NEVER in your life need a graphic calculator outside of high school, no matter what you major in in college.

I have Vista on a laptop and I really don't like it. The way the stuff is organized in Vista is just all messed up. I liked 98 for what it was and used it until about 2002 when I got a new system with XP. I just forgot how bad some stuff looked in Windows 98. It was not near as bad as ME though. I had that on my first laptop I got in 2001 and thankfully it came with a coupon to get a free upgrade to XP since I ordered it right before XP came out.

I have to use it for college algebra, which since it's community college it's basically high school math.

you do know that the TI-8x graphing calculators CAN be changed to be scientific.
and since colleges make freshman take chemistry i would assume you would need one

I needed my Graphing Calculator for my Calculus courses in college, in fact I still need it for my ecology courses so I can demonstrate the rate equations on births and deaths in a population.

None of my classes in college would allow the use of graphing calculators because you can store information in them very easily. You either used a regular fucking calculator or you did it on paper like I did.
