Strangely, my friends son as well as my ex-girlfriends nephew LOVE Sonic and Mario... they like the new games, but when they come over to my house, they will play the oldschool games for hours. My friend and I are going to get his son a genesis with all the sonic games for Christmas.

That is the greatest Christmas gift ever. What games are you getting him? Just Sonic 1,2,3 & Knuckles? Or are you going to throw in 3-D Blast and Spinball too?

Sega announced after a joke contest they ran this week that Sonic would be the only character to star in the game, it sounds like they may be getting back to the roots after all.

They also released this image, quite exciting.
