Arizona Public Service Co. crews are busy attempting to restore power after a Monday night storm slammed the greater Phoenix area. APS spokesman Alan Bunnell said about 61,000 are without power.
At least 30 intersections across Phoenix are without traffic signals because of a Monday night storm that slammed the city. The signal outages stretch from Central Avenue and Buckeye Road to 35th Avenue and Union Hills.
Bunnell said APS hopes to get everyone back online by noon. However, it could be later in the day before everyone is fully restored. |

i had to use a flashlight to take a shower this morning. good thing my alarm is on my cell phone.

I got caught in the worst part of this storm. I didn't have power for 10 days. I was lucky, some people were still out until a week later.

I was in the Ice storm of 1998 and then in 2004 we had another ice storm in NY, which resulted in me listening to the Syracuse Orange win the National Championships on the Radio...
